Title: Alt-coin Mining
Post by: mezmerizer9 on September 20, 2014, 04:37:00 PM
Is there any alt-coin that can be profitable if minned without a mining rig or a strong pc? I've been mining DOGE but it got slow so now I'm looking for a new coin. Any suggestions maybe?

What is your current hash power?
Now is hard to mine with a PC because of power cost and low profit, maybe you can try to buy cloud mining hashing power, you can get the ROI in 2-3 months.

No point in mining without the right equipment. It just isn't profitable anymore. However, there are cloud mining option which are quite cheap.

I wonder if its better just to work out how much electricity your rig would use each day and just purchase altcoins with the same amount each day or save up for a week and purchase BTC each week especially as the BTC USD price is low at the moment. You can then keep that BTC or perhaps trade it for the coins you like. You will probably get more back with your money than mining directly, plus you wont have all that noise or heat to worry about.

Or think about looking at a service where you can buy chunks of hashpower, LTC Gear, Genesis Mining and GAW Miners Hashlets come to mind.

Just a thought anyway

Its Asic game now and GPU mining is over . If you don't want to invest in mining then buy coins directly , much easier and no pre-orders :P

I was on CEX.IO but fees are sky high and I've actualy lost 0.3btc when the price went drasticly down. I was thinking on going to the different cloud mining service but I don't know is any other profitable.

Not sure I agree that it's over. We may see a comeback this fall, but for sure its not anything like what it used to be.
