Title: Some unused names for altcoins: Chic.cash, Egold.cc, Psst.cash, Swish.cash
Post by: TheFascistMind on September 20, 2014, 05:21:59 PM
I don't know yet what I am going to do with these.

chic.cash
egold.cash
egold.cc
psst.cash
swish.cash

Might be for sale or donation to coins I think deserve. Or might be for a coin I would silently contribute to as a developer. We will see.

I will try to not publicly endorse nor throw my reputation at any. Let you all decide. I just hope we can inspire.

E-gold has been used previously.

Never by a crypto-currency.

Most people in the developing world never heard of that US-centric fiasco, but they sure know what gold is.

egold is not e-gold.

Imo, Egold is a better name than Bitcoin.

They probably copyrighted the name.

They probably copyrighted the name.

You mean trademark. And they did trademark "e-gold" but afaics not "egold".

Trademarks are protected by use which is too similar and could cause confusion. But afaik, e-gold is shutdown and thus there is no confusion or harm that can come to users or principals of e-gold from the use "egold".

Also the registered trademark may not be global.

Also we don't know if the owners of the trademark are non-negotiable.

Apparently he is still in charge and still interested in seeing the name used for electronic money.

He apparently hasn't shut down this use of the name:
