He was living homeless in the woods with his dog for over two years. This begs the question if military disability pay is too low or if they're cutting people off. It also begs the question if it would be cheaper to switch from a professional military to a private military. Each soldier in Iraq back then cost $400K. Sometimes it's said each soldier in Afghanistan cost $2.1 million (despite these guys only taking home low salaries). It would be cheaper to switch over to a mercenary military and pay people $150K+ for oversea services but don't give them a pension or disability pay if they get injured, and they have to provide their own gear. Many people would be lining up in droves to join the military if it paid six figures. Not that the gear in the military is any good. Illegally, soldiers have been substituting their gear with private purchases due to subpar equipment. Well it's a PR disaster none the less. America the Great and yet disabled veterans are left to fend for themselves due to some bureaucratic decision made by someone that you can live off $150 disability payment. Whats ironic is that if he would have been 5 minutes earlier, he could have been face to face with the president.. The secret service used to be the top of the ladder of all agencies, now they are the mutts...

This was actually standard procedure but for some reason did not do this. |
