Still better than $2, the price when I started mining. People panic too easily.

I believe at $400, a lot of people will deposit money to invest. They just need 1-2 days to deposit the money. Its not instant :)

i pray for it to tank.  i would like for corp farms & HW manufacturers to come to a halt in mining.  would give the little guys a chance to keep mining.

Bitcoin price will always be fluctuating. But bitcoin itself wont die out,it has just grown too big in the market to get destroyed.

The question is only who will be still able to afford mining btc, with a price under 100$ and next Diff raise of 20% or more. I've invested just recently 9000€, will get 10 more machines tmorrow and have an iffer for spondos that would cost me like a nice medium priced car. But I actually think of stopping all imediatly, since only a few € less and I start oaying on top, not to talk about any ROI...where will this stop???

.... except chinese big farns

Yep, let's clear out those massive Datorhalls and get back to home mining.

I am with you guys hoping some of these large mining companies fold, especially the ones who immediately sell for $.

I want them out of the game so in a few years we can read stories such as "We bought $10 million of mining equipment, mined $12 million worth of bitcoins and thought we did good but quit when difficulty went too high, but if we had just held the coins they would be worth $X00 million"

No sweat, I bought at 400 euro's and holding.
This drop will push out the noobs.
The rise may take long or short, but I will hold for years if necesarry.
Bitcoin is still very new, an experiment on a massive scale.
We will see what the future brings, but I see it brightly. ;)

When will bitcoin bottom and when should you buy? 2 clues:

Here is the first clue:
When you look at the bitcoin charts and the little voice in the back of your head is screaming: "The time to buy is NOW, please oh please just click the damn BUY BUTTON NOW!", and everyone not involved with bitcoin is saying: "Bitcoin failed, it was a ponzi scheme, you should give up, it will never recover because people are not stupid, I cannot believe you fell for that"

And here is the second:
When you can sense the quiet before the storm - when all the poeple who are involved with bitcoin are thinking the above and are waiting for someone else (the smart money) to make the first move. Typically when there are no more good excuses as to why the prices are falling, buy support looks strong, prices have been stable for a while (although low).

Hopefully we are getting a tad bit closer every day  :D :D :D

People got this "clue" for months already & have got crushed everytime! BTC has never went up on big volume since 1,100$

The interesting side effect of BTC price dropping is everyone must balance the cost of each investment in mining capacity plus the operational cost of mining against just purchasing BTC. So while it may remain profitable for existing operations to continue, the marginal cost of adding the next increment of capacity may be more than buying BTC even for the big operators.

I don't think bitcoin is getting destroyed anytime soon.It has outgrown itself to such a big outcome it can't just get off everything attached to it.

It sure is depressing continuing to mine and add bitcoin to my wallet only to watch my balance decrease.  :'(

And it looks like October may be my last month of mining if the price of BTC doesn't increase soon. My electric bill is nearly as much as my mining income.

The end is near indeed, at least for me.

Why short term predictions?? That's how all these people are loosing money....... How about double digits per coin before the year ends

They should tighten up that "loose" money before they lose it.  :)

This is an attack by a large mining interest IMO

$300 sell wall coupled with a 25% spike in hashrate...... Someone is trying to kill hobby mining and small pools...

Hang in there everyone...

Probably BFL's execs cashing out as much as they can before they get caught. Consider the timing. They get busted and the BTC is now getting dropped for Fiat. Alternately it could be the FTC converting BFL's stores of BTC to fiat to enable refunds. This was not an insignificant sum of money. Consider that the numbers were at 20million USD roughly. If there was a significant amount of that in BTC being converted to fiat, that would explain a huge downward pressure. The timing seems to fit.  There could be other factors as well. But this one seems to be one that could be causing this. Or a combination of the two items mentioned above.

Open you eyes people, Mining spiked over 315,000,000gh/s then as its dropping back to 267,000,000 the price is getting smashed... TRUST ME this isn't a mistake!! There are miners out there who can turn their machines on for a few hours & produce thousands of coins!!

I never worried too much about bitcoin but now it is starting to get dangerously low to where I am getting worried. If it resets back to 100 or so we might be in trouble. the operations around bitcoin are way past that and a lot of people will lose a lot of money. We need a spike from some buying pressure. All the news recently like paypal and overstock etc give good publicity but also create sell pressure.
