Title: Looking for Java coder and/or trader for tradebot development
Post by: daybyter on May 03, 2012, 01:58:09 PM
Hi!

I already wrote some code, but I'm looking for some Java and/or trade experience to further this project.

TIA,
Andreas

Ok, I'm still looking for a java coder to further the development of this software.

Some parts have been opensourced now:

https://github.com/ReAzem/cryptocoin-tradelib

, so you can get an idea of my coding style.

Most bot parts are still closed source, though, since I want to continue working on the bot framework.

Some stuff is already working:

, so you can get an idea of the concept.

PM me, if you are interested in some form of a collab.

Still looking for coders.

Some specific tasks, that people might be interested in:

- Help with the jdbc connection to get long term persistence finally going.

- Help with the android app to monitor and control bots.

- Help with the compiler trading language => drools rule sets.

- Some of the exchange APIs are not completely implemented, since I don't use them at the moment, and I implement such stuff as I use it.

- Add automatic orders to the arb bots.

Drop me a PM, if you're interested in any of the tasks.

Ciao,
Andreas

To any users of the lib: the current CurrencyImpl class gotta go. There are already new classes (not yet complete) in .../trade/currency/Currency* but the transition will break your apps. Let me know, if you have any issues, need special features in the new classes etc.

See this issue for details:

https://github.com/ReAzem/cryptocoin-tradelib/issues/11

Sorry in advance for any inconvenience...

To be honest: I'm not sure. My original idea was, to find a partner for the project. I already wrote so much code and I think my bots are profitable. So a potential partner would get access to that codebase and therefore benefit from my work. We could share the future profit, or so.

But it seems this idea doesn't really work. On the other hand, I'd need constant help on the UI side. So somebody, who just creates a dialog and then disappears won't be of much help.

That's my dilemma, as I see it at the moment... :(

Ciao,
Andreas

Would you create actual java code, or just some image? How much would it cost (just a rough guesstimation)?

Depends on what you would want done. I've done java programming for many years I'm good with UI stuff and coding. If you wanted to outsource some small tasks to me as one time events I think we wouldn't get into any trouble. If we tried to do a long term project that probably wouldn't work out. Give me an example of a task you would wan't to outsource.

Do you think it makes more sense to run a simple strategy on a phone or better run it on a server and just display the results on the phone?

depends on what kind of trading it's doing. If it's just buy and sell every once in a while people would want a "HFT" App for their phone. If you going to use it only yourself for high volume trading you would want to make a desktop app.

I thought about a simple balancing strategy, that might work if you check prices a few times a day.

Committed the new currency implementation (which will break most apps btw) and added a bitcoin.de API implementation.
