My guess is that it is a company doing an audit.

Either that or a company is consolidating inputs to be able to not have a lot of very small inputs that will occur when bitcoin is sent in various amounts for things like customer withdrawals.

Probably either a big company or mining operation reviewing their funds or more likely some old miner that had thousands of coins stored in a memory.

My guess, it's a miner shifting coins & trading.

Consolidation to cold storage ----> Damn that is a huge sum of money.  :(

For most of us, we would never see that type of money, in your whole life. Could also just be Bill Gates experimenting with "Paper wallets"  ;)

They say, if he drop a $100 and we walks a mile, he would not turn back to go fetch it, because it's generated through interrest again.  >:(

Early adopters easily could have tens of thousands of bitcoins if they have stuck to it and held. But I think most of them are kicking themselves right now for getting rid of them, like the guy who bought two pizzas for 10k btc

maybe:

http://www.coindesk.com/netagio-becomes-first-uk-bitcoin-company-meet-auditing-standard/
I would think there would be a less risky way for a company to do an audit. Any time you send a TX there is a small risk that you send the bitcoin to an incorrect address, that the private key of the receiving address gets destroyed or corrupted.

I would argue a better way to audit holdings a company has would be to sign messages with all the addresses under their control and use an API to check the "balance" of each of the addresses

I would think they would likely send these small inputs to an exchange since they are providing their customers with fiat once the bitcoin is received. These inputs would likely get split up once the customers who eventually buy the bitcoin that bitpay is selling gets withdrawn from their account
