Title: Rockminer Rbox NEW Post by: cybergatto on September 22, 2014, 03:10:39 PM Hello,
i've just powered on my first bitcoin miner, one RBOX 110. I've launched cgminer with this configuration: Code: cgminer.exe -o eu-stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u **********_1 -p 123 -o stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u *********_1 -p 123 --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --rock-freq 270 --failover-only In the cgminer.exe window i see a lot of duplicate shares, and on the pool statistic i see: Speed: 78.43 GH/s Accepted Shares: 286416 (99.86%) Stale / Dupe / Other: 396 / 72920 / 12 Are this values normal? I've made some mistake on the config? Thanks Lorenzo Title: Re: Rockminer Rbox NEW Post by: philipma1957 on September 22, 2014, 03:40:18 PM try rock-freq 290 and try rock-freq 320 and try rock-freq 350 watch for temps
I was doing higher but one of them wants to run too hot so I dropped freq from 320 to 290 the hot one now runs at 58c mine are at freq 290 on a custom rPi I assume you have the new box shaped ones freq 290 setting http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/742/fpVKLc.png I get around 111 for each box http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/537/t2w2MF.png Title: Re: Rockminer Rbox NEW Post by: hurricandave on September 22, 2014, 07:08:34 PM @cybergatto it looks as if you are trying to use the official cgminer on a PC? Unfortunately, it does not have the proper driver built in for the new r-box ver.2. If you visit the Rockminer website you can download their fork of cgminer and install. open the folder with Cgminer-Win-V1.2-20140917 , then highlight the batchfile labeled start . rightclick and select edit. openwith notepad if it asks. You will see the Rockminer fork uses RMU auto 320 instead of rock freq. as well as cgminer.exe is replaced with main.lib . This fork I believe is for windows but it will get a bit better results than the official cgminer build.
Once you have edited the start file and saved it, close the notepad. You can then double-click the start file and cgminer will launch. You should now see your device named RMU instead of LIR. I'm running the RKBox New, solomining just for fun, and without any overclocking I'm getting a little over the rated 110 ghs. In my batch file, I'm also not using the --icarus options or --rock-freq parameters. CGMiner picks it up and automatically runs it at 270 on its own. You can of course overclock if you want with the --rock-freq flag, but I didn't see any need to.

Rockxie has already stated in the official Rockminer thread that the default frequency of the new R-Box ver2 110GH/s is 320Mhz. So I'm not sure if your referring to the same device or not. My experience with the official CGMiner was not as successful as yours.Title: Re: Rockminer Rbox NEW Post by: bonds on September 22, 2014, 09:36:40 PM Use the newest official CGMiner. The rockminer 110GHS. I've tried the official version of cgminer and the rockminer fork, te performance are the same, and still receive a lot of duplicate shares. http://s28.postimg.org/yf6hv719p/Immagine.png I dont know were is the problem... Title: Re: Rockminer Rbox NEW Post by: hurricandave on September 22, 2014, 10:19:00 PM The duplicates are going to be high, that's normal for mine. It appears by your screenshot it's only running for a few minutes. It will take at least 1-2 hours for the avg to start to normalize because of the 15min field will thow the calculation off until it has 3-4 full 15minute intervals to count and your pool is just adding to existing data and has a different time between updates.

L Title: Re: Rockminer Rbox NEW Post by: bonds on September 23, 2014, 02:02:27 PM So I bumped mine up to 320mhz like I saw Rockxie mention and now I'm averaging 120ghs with it ??? Was getting right at 110 just running it at 270. Temps are around 42-43.
Title: Re: Rockminer Rbox NEW Post by: hurricandave on September 23, 2014, 02:31:10 PM @cybergatto, your seeing about what I saw using the official cgminer over the Rockminer, higher HW errors than Accepted Shares, after several hours. I tried two things that helped.
First was to run the Rockminer download and that improved the numbers a bit. Second, I found that swapping out the USB cable as well as trying different USB ports on my PC made a difference in the Hardware Errors. https://i.imgur.com/JWXwH3j.png https://i.imgur.com/AbuQiH0.png 46hrs. continues operation. @bonds, I say you got one of the better boxes for sure. The temps are right in line with the performance you are stating. I have only come across one screenshot from a user set at 350Mhz and he was showing temps in the low 50's C as well. Title: Re: Rockminer Rbox NEW Post by: bonds on September 23, 2014, 02:33:57 PM Will post a screenshot when I get home from work. I don't know if my solo mining locally has any bearing on the performance.
