One of the requirements for the new forum is that it works without JavaScript. Adding AJAX and similar functionality doesn't play with this requirement well. It's looking like there are going to be at least 2 front ends for the new site (if my bid ever gets in and accepted, that is) Title: Re: Will Bitcointalk implement SPDY? Also, if a browser like opera does not use spdy, even though the site provides the new protocol, the site will be very well still usable. Title: Re: Will Bitcointalk implement SPDY?
