If he did not respond and sent you the BTC then it is likely he has ran away with your GC. This is why an escrow should always be used, even if you think the other party is trustworthy.

He was two activity periods away from being a Snr and could've sold his account for upto 0.4, and now he's likely to not get paid from his signature campaign once someone actually does give him red trust. Also, if your capable of just purchasing another card at a moments notice, why not just throw your fiat into BTC directly using whatever service is appropriate for your region?
