Title: Stay away from Amazon gift card sellers (Scammers)!!
Post by: haniganpick on September 25, 2014, 08:33:30 PM
I bought an Amazon gift card from btclegonaire which had a face value of $500. Once i paid him the BTCs he just disappeared. Stay away from this scammer! I was fucking dumb not to use an escrow and i learnt my lesson. He also goes by the name anonymous22 and he lures people into the trap by claiming that he is fucking legit. I am pretty sure he has many other accounts as well. If someone sells an amazon gift card for such a low price then there is 99% chance that it is a scam.

Warning: Do not fucking buy the gift cards from any seller here without the escrow. Scammers are using full member accounts to convince new buyers like myself. Always, always stick with the escrow! Choose a well reputed escrow, and not the one the scammers recommend. And do not trust those shady screenshots that they fucking show as a proof that they own the giftcard!

He scammed you too? !!

He sold me some legit cards before to earn my trust and to give him +rep then he uses this account with rep to scam people easily. Damn this is the second scam case for this guy within 24 hours. I dunno if he scammed more guys than you and darkghost : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=364462

I am really sorry for your loss man. I already removed my +ve feedback from his account and he will be left a -ve one.

Stop pretending like you are legit. I know that you own multiple accounts and are scamming so many people here. And even your trust rating looks fishy.

Guys use escrow to deal with this guy. Never ever go first!

I've used anonymous22 many times before. He has had many times to scam me and has always delivered. I trust him. However, that guy was using Anonymous's trust rating and vouches to scam other people into trusting him. I lost $112 last night. I'm sorry for your loss as well.

I know for a fact there are users recreating accounts over and over again for Amazon Gift cards. Comparing the posts they are all newbies selling the same thing over and over again.

Edit: Even with escrow it's not going to guarantee the seller will not charge back the purchase. It's all risk. And they aren't worth taking. Not only that but it's the fact that people aren't using common sense. Newbies are scamming other newbies. Tomatocage's tutorial on how to spot a scammer is just about dead on. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137288.0 Read it, learn it.

It is really bad that you folks were scammed and lost money but if you think about it why would anyone come into a forum like this and sell supposedly "legit" Amazon cards at a substantial discount?  There are many other easier ways turn these cards into cash.

It's no different than Starbucks cards.  For $20-$30 it's worth a GAMBLE (win some lose some) but when you're talking big bucks you can be 90% sure you're at worse being scammed or buying questionable product at the least that may or may not last more than a few days.  You all really need to use some common sense especially in these types of forums .... and particularly where people sell TRUSTED USER ACCOUNTS.  You REALLY need to think first in order to protect yourselves.

Oh my fucking god! Seriously how many fucking accounts do you have? Now i know that you own darkghost568 also. And how do i know that? I looked at darkghost568 trust section and you sent out three good ratings for yourself(anonymous22) and a bad one each for btclegonaire and BTCbuisinessman. And you made those ratings right after i opened this scam thread. And Darkhorse's previous comment was that he got scammed by btclegonaire for $112. So why would darkhorse leave the same neg feedback for BTCbuisinessman ?

It is because you fucking own all these accounts. You are trying to make your anonymous22 account look so legit by doing all sorts of things like pretending and leaving out neg ratings using darkghost568 (which you own) to your shitty subsidiary accounts btclegonaire and BTCbusinessman.

Guys the scammer anonymous22 also owns darkghost568, btclegonaire and BTCbuisinessman. I am 100% sure that he owns more accounts besides these. Beware of dealing with these accounts.

They are not using trusted member's feedbacks because it is sometimes the fucking trusted members like yourself who recreate all these accounts and give themselves a positive rep to those new accounts. I know for a fact that you own multiple accounts (some new ones and some reputed ones).

I told people that you are a scammer and you own multiple accounts. Now you can try whatever you want to convince them.

Just use a very trusted escrow guys. And even with escrow these sellers might ship a fake amazon code and scam you by saying that you activated it. If it is too good to be true then it sure is.

Well btclegonaire tried to scam me for over $250 last week. But since i used paypal i won the dispute and got back my money. And a guy pretending to be anonymous22 (not sure if he is real or fake) contacted me through skype using another account and offered the similar deal and a similar price as btclegonaire. From what i can tell he tried to avoid escrow by giving me better deals. He tried to push me into buying the card and i was certain that he was btclegonaire. It might or might not have been anonymous22. When i told him on skype that there is a scam report opened against him, anonymous22 immediately responded to this scam thread in like 5 minutes. And if it wasn't the real anonymous22 on skype then how could he respond to the scam thread so fast after i informed him? But I advise all buyers to stay cautious and not fall for too good to be true offers.

Yeah, lets face it, the people buying these know where they're likely to have come from but either choose to ignore it or take the risk. I'm not sure whether anonymous22 is the same person as these other scammers but i have seen several members use him as a vouch to try secure deals. If he's not a scammer he is pretty niave buying these cards just to resell on.

I did all i can do to proof that i am legit and i am not relating to this guy. believe or don't believe it is up to you. I did not and I won't scam anyone on here and these are the details of the real scammer. it is up to you to believe or not because you are just making all of this to accuse me without any single proof and i gave you all the proofs that ensured that i am not a scammer. anyways if you don't believe it is up to you. Still hoping you get your money back.
