Title: Auto Update Option
Post by: vite on September 25, 2014, 11:08:33 PM
It be nice, if I leave the forum window open. for it to update every say 5 min or more...

and if I get a message and look back at the forum tab on my browser I will know I have a message.

Rather than waiting on my email notice to tell me I got a message. it would just freeze at the "open message" message...

Something similar has already been suggested, through the use of something like a notification center.

Would it be like a plugin or something like that? Even if we close the BT tabs, a plugin can notify a new PM. ::) So is it something like that or the BT site must be opened?

Couldn't it be done the way Gmail does it? Kind of how it shows up a desktop notification when you receive an email.

It can be done with a websocket or an app might be needed to install to get the notification.

i think this could be done via Gmail account...
and if you need to forwarding message to other mail account, with gmail you can easily forwarding all message to other account by rules...

Just watch threads you want and set notify on.

Leave Gmail open.

Done.

That would fill the Gmail if the thread receives lot of posts. Notifications are better and essential for a forum IMO.
