I believe this is some of what we are experiencing.  What is the bitcoin networks strategy to combat this?

Governments are indifferent to bitcoin because it is no threat.

The professor is an ignorant idiot who chose something useless to study.

Yeah I was really expecting the governments to openly accept a decentralized currency which should replace their government issued ones. I was surprised that they did not do it.  ::)

I think he was actually trying to make a name for himself. By making such a bold prediction that he felt had somewhat of a chance of happening he would potentially become known for being able to predict price crashes. Regardless he generated a lot of press for himself
