Title: Has anybody heard about that Silk Road scam?
Post by: Spekulatius on May 06, 2012, 10:14:34 PM
Has anybody heard about that 'massive' Silk Road scam cited here?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=79880.0

A couple weeks ago, blockchain.info had an extended outage, GLBSE went down for a while, MtGox announced they weren't doing wires for a week, and there was a massive Silk Road scam. With all that, not much happened with the price. Does that predict the future? Maybe, to some debatable degree, but it's simply impossible to know..

I heard from someone that read that a well known SR seller called "tony" was getting out of the game and decided to rip everyone off by using his well known status as a good seller.

And how much would that respected individual have taken with?

I've read $100,00.00 of BTC was quoted but I doubt it.

The question is, just how difficult will it be for him to cash out?

Can you quote a source please? I'm trying to follow this story, but all I'm getting are vague claims based on nothing. Thank you very much :)

If you really wanted to follow this story you would go to the place where it happened and read about it there instead of staying here asking questions.

That was what I did when I wanted to know more. Not going to quote or link anything here, that's for sure, but I know what I read in a thread where someone is following some of the scammer bitcoin addresses, and that was that he sent some thousands of coins to MtGox.
