Title: MSI Afterburner,ggrrrrr
Post by: Unacceptable on May 06, 2012, 10:37:24 PM
My rigs run for 2-3 months, then the power company gives a burp & restarts my PC's.

So I go to fire up MSI AB & it says "New version available" & it no longer works, damn, got to uninstall AB (on all 3 rigs, good thing I'm goin FPGA's soon 8) ),go DL the new "version" & reinstall & copy & paste the OC.

Is there any way to auto upgrade AB??

Or is there another tweaker that you guys use that works regardless of "New version"??

I only OC my core & downclock my mem & crank up the fan,no over/under volting.

I knew I was going out of town for some time prior to an expiration period, I bumped all the system clocks back 6 months. Simple but crude fix.

Can't you disable it in AB?

Settings → Check for available product updates → never

It still has an automatic kill date in the actual software.

maybe use another piece of software to adjust your clocks? cgminer has it built in.

I like Sapphire Trixx. 4.3.0 added undervolting to all my cards including my 5830 extremes. I was extremely happy. One nuance is the ranges for the clocks is still annoying to set if you're setting them to extremes such as memory underclocking (need to set it, hit apply, set it lower, apply, set it lower, apply. Can get bigger changes if you select the card again from the dropdown box)

Vers 2.1.0 runs without any expire date.
