Title: [Auction] Selling Gambling Business
Post by: hardshot on September 28, 2014, 11:08:29 AM
Hey Bitcoiners,

I decided to put my project "BitWheel.io" on auction.
I want to concentrate on another project, so I will have no time to administrate this one.
A lot of work has been invested to make it like it is now.

BitWheel.io is a stylish Wheel Of Fortune where players can choose from currently four different wheels with different
winning opportunities.

User features:

- Autospin
- Fast Spin
- Faucet
- Affiliate program

All artwork and sound effects are made exclusively for this project and are unique!

It's a relatively "small" project, but with a lot of potential for someone with enough time and skills to promote it.
I already have quite a lot of agreements with other site owners to put banners and
reviews on their sites (in exchange they get a better affiliate commission rate than usual).

Included in this auction:

- Domain: bitwheel.io
   - will be pushed to your Namecheap account
- All project files including wheel images, sounds, banners, ... everything.
- Installation on your server
- OR you take current project server (I will contact the provider regarding this matter)

Some statistics:

- over 1,1100,000 spins made
- over 220 BTC wagered

If you choose to set it up on a new server, I will help you to manage this successfully.

Starting bid: 1.5 BTC
Buy it now: Make me an offer via PM
End date and time: 21st October - 9:00PM
Payment methods accepted: Bitcoin
Additional information: Escrow accepted

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask here or via PM or by sending an email to admin@bitwheel.io

Is this site coded by you or was it purchased and modified?

Yea I'd like to know that as well.
Were you the coder of the website or who was it coded by?

Is this site coded by you or was it purchased and modified?

It's a bought script basically. But it's extremely modified, countless hours of work invested.
Security fixes have been made and bugs fixed.

I think it's not really comparable to the original one with it's security and special features.

So I can tell you, the code is not public.

Since another interested member asked for it, I did a profit calculation based on deposits, withdrawals and current account balances.
To learn a number, please contact me.

Would you be willing to agree to an anti-compete clause / exclusive rights to the modified script? And there haven't been many bets since I checked it out yesterday, how much BTC is being wagered on a weekly basis?

Anti-compete clause / exclusive rights, maybe.. Depends on the price.

Regarding the wagering matter: A while ago I stopped to advertise the site by myself, so all traffic is comming through affiliates.
So it's just like I wrote it in the starting post, it's a small site.

Please don't think you're buying a extremely highly frequented site where all jobs are done.
If you are willing to do some advertising, you might be the right person to buy - No get-rich-quick-with-no-effort scheme... bla bla ;)

If you wanted to buy a highly frequented gambling site, you would see a waaaay higher starting bid than 1.5 BTC .. which is really low.

btw 7-day-wager is around 5 BTC

Renew my bid for 1.5btc .. will buy now if you want and quickly close the deal.

Title: Re: [Auction] Selling Gambling Business
Post by: hardshot on October 07, 2014, 05:52:34 AM
I don't HAVE to sell this one ;)
For a buy-now option, 1.5 BTC is too less.

If no good offer is made for buying it instantly we will just wait till auction officially ends.

Title: Re: [Auction] Selling Gambling Business
Post by: hardshot on October 10, 2014, 06:01:08 AM
Just to clarify this:

When the project is sold, I will leave the amount of users and affiliates balances in the sites wallet.
So you don't have to compensate this.

Title: Re: [Auction] Selling Gambling Business

Current bid is 2.5 BTC.

Current bid is 2.5 BTC.

Can you please have them bid in the thread and confirm?  Private bids weren't really mentioned in the initial auction terms.

Not saying you're doing anything wrong, but there is plenty of potential abuse of the system if it is allowed.

Any update on this?  I don't want to go against a Phantom bidder who could magically keep pushing my bids up.

I will have to extend the auction till 25th October.
I'm on a business trip (not bitcoin related  ;) ) and won't have enough access to do the deal.

Thanks for your understanding.

fyi - this person essentially backed out of a trade after agreeing to a price and to use escrow. I would not take his bids seriously unless he prefunds his bid to escrow.

Title: Re: [Auction] Selling Gambling Business
Post by: moriartybitcoin on October 22, 2014, 10:35:52 PM
The newbie's bid is almost certainly bogus.  I bid 1.6btc and he doubles it to 3 btc?  That makes no sense at all.

I will up my bid to 2btc and willing to close the deal ASAP.  You do not need escrow - I will send payment in Bitcoin, then you transfer me the site.

Ready when you are.

As long as escrow is used or payment sent first, every bidder is highly welcome. No matter if newbie or hero member.

If a newbie wins the auction and does not pay then the next highest bidder might have spent the money they would have bought the site for on something else, leaving you with an unsold website. All you can do to a newbie is leave them negative trust if they do not pay, but then can easily create a new account with no effort.

I would suggest making any newbies or anyone you are not 100% certain will pay to put money for their bid in an address controlled by a trusted escrow. This will prevent the above from happening

The highest bid was 3.1BTC anyways.

This would have gone for a lot more if the OP would have agreed to a non-compete, and can thus easily set it back up on his own servers. He can't sell the rights to the license since its 3rd party software (Customized version of Johnny's wheel script).

Stop crying, you could have bought it - But you have been too stingy.
Now someone else owns it. Normally you don't even deserve an answer..
