Considering I've never had any issues directly with the bank, I would. Also when my money got stolen, the FDIC reimbursed me.

Never heard of bail-in? Your FDIC won't be any useful...

I understand it, my point is while you believe the dollar will collapse imminently, I do not. Maybe 10+ years down the road, but not immediately.

Bails-in and currency collapses are two things. You don't need a currency collapse to have a bail-in, you just needs some politicians agreeing that it is now the time to let the banks scoop into your bank account to pay off the national debt. Door have been wide open in Canada and some European countries for such a thing and partially open in the US. Governments and banks will make it impossible for us to forecast because it will obviously create a bank run and/or massive capital flights.

Do you have the same thoughts regarding Credit Unions then? In terms of scummy-ness they are much better than banks in that regard.

Good question. It might be harder to access funds in credit union bank accounts but certainly not impossible. Time will tell, sadly..
