Title: BITMAIN has horrible customer service
Post by: ELOHIM on September 29, 2014, 04:49:10 PM
What a horrible experience I am having with BITMAIN.

Because of their error I will have to pay a 32% tax to get my packages out of customs.

Every time I contact them all they do is brush off my concerns and questions. Customs has been trying to contact them for 14 days to clear up the situation and they offer no assistance.
All they do is respond by saying it is my problem to deal with.

Buyers beware. Don't expect any customer service/help after they have received your coin.
BITMAINTECH - What a ripoff!

What should they write?  Chocolate Chip Cookies?

This has been discussed at length on the forum.  Bitmain is doing what they are required to.  Please stop blaming them for the shitty import rules of your godforsaken Country.

Which is accurate.

It has been in customs for 2 weeks(and counting) + 32%tax on a super inflated invoice they attached to the package. I bought the items with Bitcoin not Dollar nor any other government currency. They tacked on a ridiculous Dollar amount to an invoice and left me out to dry.

You mean the invoice is much more expensive then what you actually paid?

They write the price in USD (based on how many btc you paid them) the day they ship.

Bitcoin dropped a lot in the last weeks so...

I am sorry which part of the computer was it I forgot? You're asking them to lie on their exports for your benefit.

The part that hashes SHA-256. Its not a computer by itself it has no power supply.

Lie ? Are you fucking kidding me ?

''bitcoin miner'' is a lie. People mine namecoin/peercoin etc. too. We can play this all day bro.

Dude, that is the risk of  buying asics. Suppose the rate of Bitcoin rise. Would you mind and pay the 'extra tax'? Duh no.

The invoice is as when you paid, not how much bitcoin price right now... So thats true and fair...

Well, in the grand scheme of things, yeah their customer service is quite basic; the next step down is not having any.

As an importer, once the item leaves their yard, it's no longer their responsibility.

Where do you live?  Poland?  Netherlands?  Can't think of a country with such a high import tax rate.

It's also always a good idea to set up a business importer account with UPS or DHL, you'd save a lot on time, brokerage and save on import taxes.

Most countries have an import tax, you pay sales tax as you would be buying the same item within the country.

There is also a significant price difference between importing as an individual and importing as a company.

For Bitmain to be able to export they are bound to working by the importer's country's rules and for a broker to clear a shipment, they need to have a clear idea of the product.

You can import an RV to live in but you still need to get insurance to put it on the road and then home-owners insurance.

Also, companies who deal in Bitcoin, report their Bitcoin earnings to their dollar equivalent.

You're complaining about stuff you should be doing in the beginning, none of that is Bitmain's fault.

Commercial Importing 101

You'll be much happier with Bitmain if you just buy the product and never deal with them unless you need a fix.

They're not bad but CS could be a lot better and be more transparent on their website because most new miners don't understand importing at all.

I live in Canada, import under my corporate name AND have a UPS importer account.  All three are really nice savings ;)

Last order of 5 cost me less than $100 which is really nice compared to what I used to pay ($200+).

This means I pay no brokerage fee and pay the federal corporate tax rate instead of the full sales tax.

Importing paperwork and reporting is your duty, regardless the country you import from.

Like, seriously, I agree Bitmain should be more transparent on their website on the importing process, definitely.

Especially when they cater to home miners who doesn't usually import from that far away.

Importers should do their homework before importing anything, don't blame Bitmain CS.

Yeah they suck but it's not their problem if you don't know what you're doing.

If you don't study, never did homework and failed the exam, who's fault is it?  Teachers?

Yeah they suck too but no reason to make either look suckier than they already are.

I'm not a fan of Bitmain CS although I buy a lot from them but seriously, all you accomplished in this thread is say:

-I am ok with buying bitcoin miners
-I don't want to pay import fees my country imposes
-I don't want Bitcoin Miner shown on the box despite all clarifications made
-I don't want to pay 33% import tax but didn't check to see how much it would be
-I never attempted to view the experiences of previous buyers despite them posted all over this forum
-I likely never bought any other mining machines and never tried any other manufacturers
-I want to get everything but do no work whatsoever

That last statement seem to be "new miner" mantra which is why my position in mining is secure, I'll be mining full capacity profitably even if the price drops to $20 a piece.  It's the same in Gold mining, always those bozos who come in acting like big shots, wanting everyone else to do the work, collect a fat check but for some reason end up leaving broke as a joke.  They laugh at my small operation but I keep going to my claim taking gold out of the ground and putting it in my gold jar.  They failed to properly test, bring in the wrong machinery type or cheap out and to only see them at the welfare office the year after.  See where I am going?

Mining is no longer a hobby, either you get serious about it and do your damn homework or fail like the rest who are shutting down their machines and complaining about everything else other than themselves right now.

Nice but to the point i agree you either do or you don't if do you don't watch the numbers it only makes it seem worse . if hes agree or not on watching numbers for me if I watch the numbers  i might as well stop now. I Know I'm gonna lose but sooner or later it pays me back and so what if it doesn't.  :) . I also see those that are complaining as either had it  to good to long or used what they made the wrong way but I will  let that go ..

I dunno about this.. Bitmain has hooked me up everytime on the "value" of the computer parts I am recieving.

Everything that comes from out of country you have to pay extra tax on.. WELCOME TO BEING A SLAVE IS IT NOT ENJOYALBE?!?!

This is why I am in BTC.. I do not like being a slave to the bankers.

Bitmain is one of the best manufacturers out there, if not the best.

Their product is always priced very competetively which allows you to acheive ROI according to their very best predictions (which have been accurate until now).

If the price on the invoice is correct (aka amount in $ at the time of purchase), then that is accurate and complaining is useless.

If it isnīt, print your order page and calculate the $ amount yourself, hand it in at customs and pay the correct amount according to that.

I quite frankly donīt see your problem. Their description has been both accurate and unproblematic for me.

Donīt blame a Chinese company for your countryīs specific regulations.

I like Bitmain, they make very reliable units. Never really had to deal with their CS, but the hardware is great, especially compared to what others are making.

Computer hardware. Server. Home theater PC. Calculations accelerator. Anything else, not Bitcoin miner, Cryptographical equipment or something like this...

But the firmware on your S2s (if you have some) contains not up-to-date cgminer, and Bitmain only promises to correct it and provide new FW over 2 monthes already. It could not take 2 monthes!.. They just doesn't care.

One order I got was labeled as "PC GAME" and got slapped with another 10% import duty due to their sloppiness, also had problems due to them not stating a shipping cost and inaccurate weight. The problem with writing "Bitcoin miner" is that it's not a recognized customs category for goods and 99% of customs worker wont know in what category to put it (hence delays and complications)

Meanwhile labeling a shipment of chocolate chip cookies as chocolate chip cookies is not by the customs standards either, but then 99%+ of all customs workers can figure out what category it belongs to.

I've bought S2 miner from them and after a couple months it stopped to work.
I didn't overclocked the miner.
I asked their customer support about what to do. There was no response..

So, I'm agree with the TC: their CS  is horrible. >:(

And I'm not agree with Stargazer - their miners aren't reliable  :(
