So he (presumably), is.  There were 181 posts when I clicked first, 152 now.  Such as the perils of self-moderated threads (I run one, I should know! *evil laugh*).

Presumably you archived a copy - the .lk site has one with posts up to august 19th, after which its mirroring seems to have broken for the most part).

Edit: Oh, as an aside.. this should probably be in Meta.  Or post in that thread so that everybody who participated and has notifications on, at least gets a heads-up.

All deleted posts get sent to the poster, so we have it all.

Well, the posters have them - if the need arises to piece the thread back together, getting them organized to get all those posts out (if you can even reach them all) is a mess compared to having saved the whole thread when you last saw it :)

James started deleting posts after audiocart provided pictures and we found his work location. If he would pay back the BTC he took I am sure this group buy would let him off the hook. But instead he trying to get rid of evidence of the scam. Not good James.

Any estimate on what to total Bitcoin netted to him was? I personally was tempted, but didn't actually partake of this one. It always seems like a group buy of a pre-order is risk squared or something like that.

He continued to raise the price for each round.  Looking at the group buy pay addresses, I'm not sure he actually was paid for all the shares he claims he was, or if he just filled in a bunch of garbage names claiming the round is full.

There were about 100 shares.  At 0.35 per share, that's 35 BTC, assuming all were legit shares, which the blockchain doesn't show _unless_ he changed the buy pay addresses every day or something silly.

I can prove I paid for 9 shares, 8 in batch 3, and 1 in batch 5.

One greedy shit hole just came all of a sudden and deleted all the posts. Is there a mod/admin on this forum? Atleast multiple ids should be voided! For God's sake.

He's checking about every 15mins so constantly on and off line.

What is the point in deleting posts? Is he trying to pretend his group buy never happened?

I believe someone he ripped off attempted to contact folks he works with to let them know they're working with a scammer and a thief.  He's probably trying (in vain) to hide the evidence.

pretty crazy stuff. if you have contact info, why not sue him in small claims?

He seems to be active on the site and popping his head around, posting in mining-related threads.

Can't anyone who was affected contact his local authorities?

There was a person that was going to e-mail his employer about his scam. Also he could have been running some miners at his job so this would also be a problem for him.

If we have his picture then I am sure it's pretty much easy to track him down and beat the shit out of him right?

I think a better tactic is to confront his family, friends, and colleagues with what he has done. Thru peer pressure he might do the right thing and return BTC. If not then  criminal charges need to be need to be filed against him. Since this scam has occurred online it would probably fall under the jurisdiction of the FBI and not SDPD. They are very meticulous in prosecuting crimes on the internet.

all true. organize group buy and screw us up all.

I lost $700+ due to this individual.

I have basically been forced out of Bitcoins because of him.

Any updates on the situation? Anyone called his employer, or anyone that is known to be connected to him? It has gotten a bit quiet here...

Looks like James got away with stealing from the community. Karma will catch up with him. Cops are useless. They don't want to go after criminals but prefer ticketing people instead because it's easier.
