Title: [ANN] CoinSpark lightweight bitcoin 2.0 solution for web-backed assets
Post by: gidgreen on September 30, 2014, 06:09:10 PM
We have just launched CoinSpark (coinspark.org), a new lightweight open source bitcoin solution for allowing any web-backed asset to be transacted over the blockchain.

CoinSpark is in the colored coins vein, but has several unique advantages:

* Uses a lightweight (SPV) Windows/Mac/Linux desktop wallet, based on a fork of MultiBit.
* Fixed low BTC fee for all asset transfers (we don't color coins directly - rather we use OP_RETURN metadata)
* Create an asset in minutes using pre-prepared asset contract templates.
* Contracts are notarized (hashed) onto the blockchain.
* Asset auto-discovery - a single CoinSpark address allows you to receive any asset.
* Protocol scalable to millions of assets and transactions (due to asset independence - see below).
* Libraries for C/C++, Java, Javascript, PHP (and soon Python) with detailed developers' guide.

Uniquely the CoinSpark protocol is designed so that it's possible to track the movements of any one asset across bitcoin transactions while ignoring other assets. This allows any number of different assets to sit in a single transaction output, putting less load on the blockchain. It also enables a web-like federated model where each issuer can manage their relationship with holders completely independently.

Any and all feedback is welcome - thank you.

Gotta have an easier way to make cold storage addresses.

I wish there was an easier way (or even any way) of sharing assets between different color wallets like sending a CoinPrism asset to a CoinSpark wallet.

Asset auto-discovery - a single CoinSpark address allows you to receive any asset.
The above is one of the CoinSpark features, I think it might be possible.
