Title: Not just another 'fun with words' thread: Let's break the Guinness World Record!
Post by: Gleb Gamow on September 30, 2014, 08:18:41 PM
...albeit I'm not sure at this penning what the world record is, but we'll give it a go nonetheless.

The object of this thread is to contrive the world's longest grammatically correct sentence sans any punctuation with the except of a period at its end.

For starters, the goal is to beat the following found here: http://www.onlinedebate.net/forums/showthread.php/15827-The-longest-naturally-occuring-sentence-without-a-punctuation

Quote
It is only when special and exceptional circumstances clearly transform the relationship between a particular driver and a particular passenger into a special or different class or category of relationship that the case will be one in which the duty of care owed by the particular driver to the particular passenger will be either expanded or confined by reference to the objective standard of skill or care which is reasonably to be expected of a driver to a passenger in the category of a case where that special or different relationship exists.

Basic rules, subject to change/amend:

  • Zero pronunciations with the except of a period at its end.
  • No foul language of any language origin.
  • No mention of individuals still living.
  • The resulting prose MUST be 100% grammatically correct.
  • You're allowed to change as much of the text that you desire as long as you're approving upon it.
  • Ideally, bold your chances for quick reference purposes.
  • Do not inject anything Bitcoin/Crypto related, with the resulting prose being as generic for the general public as much as possible.
  • The use of less-common words is encouraged.
  • No hyphenated words are allowed.
  • Feel free to suggest other suggestions that should be included in the basic rules.
  • The first word MUST remain as 'Nor'.
  • No two words are to be repeated, i.e., "darn cat" will ONLY be scribed once.
  • To make the task a tad more difficult, the entire prose WILL be written in E-Prime (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-Prime) (follow the link to get up to speed if not versed).
  • EDIT: No proper nouns, thus the only capital letter shall be N in Nor at the beginning of the sentence.

Hopefully, this endeavor will give you English language brainiacs a fun exercise to participate in. I, too, look forward to contributing, having any of my errata corrected.

If Guinness accepts the resulting prose, I will not take credit for it with the exception of ONLY being its initiator, giving credit to all those that'll participate, linking this thread at submission.

Thanks in advance.

I'll start with the following:
