If there is panic in other asset classes, people might shift to bitcoin in large numbers.
But right now, the panic seems to be in bitcoin markets.  ;D

How does that help the BTC economy at all? If the US stock market collapses, the BTC will follow, it's not like the US collapse is collapsing because whales are moving their FIAT into the BTC economy so...

Stocks collapsing, Gold collapsing, BTC collapsing. Going to buy barrels of oil and stock up for winter.

This is partly due to the less liquidity being provided by the federal reserve via QE (as I would speculate) as all investment asset classes are loosing value as they had increased in value due to QE

bitcoin market now is a decline, the current market price of bitcoin is declining, possibly due to lack of demand or availability of many bitcoin in market, you should if you want to invest, do not invest in bitcoin, you should now invest in gold or properties, safer and more profitable to invest there for the time being, hopefully ...  8)

Yes. Deflationary pressure is kicking in as the Fed is slowing down bond purchase.

Deflationary collapse can happen even in a high inflation environment.

Could be the reason why bitcoin is tanking also.

Margin call kicks in for equity traders and they have to sell bitcoin to cover their asses.

Didn't tank for long. Stocks went above the previous price.

Look at the charts. Its about to break up big time.
Regulations here means I have to go through a lot of paperwork to start trading, one of the reasons I am interested in BTC.

Bitcoin is facing the same issue with regulation and paper work.

That is assuming people treat bitcoin as an asset, and not a currency.
Otherwise, they will sell stocks for bitcoins or for USD.  :)

Tanking? It's still quite high compared to the recent (and all-time) high. I wouldn't worry much about it. The real problem is that the P/E is still too high.

The Stock market at current prices is a bargain !
If you have some cash it's the right time to pump in for quick 2-3% profit in short term.

P/E ratios being high is a good indicator that stocks are overpriced and are due for some kind of decline.

China property market is on the way of busting. Many will repatriate money back from abroad to either pay back bad debt or bail out the banking system. Asset price around the world will correct.

This is similar to what Japan did in the 90's.

People have been speculating that the chinese property market has been too hot for a very long time now. It has been rumored that skyscrapers are being build in China that end up being vacant when they are finished but are subsidized by the government and government sponsored entities.

I've seen MASSIVE apartment complexes, practically small cities, completely vacant in the middle of nowhere while riding the train through China. It's strange to see nothing but farm-land, then BOOM, skyscrapers with no signs of life, then back to farmland.

This is the situation in other countries as well.  The real estate bubble is about to burst across the world.

Of course it is bad for the industry. :)
Not so much for first time home buyers though.

There are really not any other countries that are doing this. China is building up a lot of skyscrapers to help their local construction industry but there is no demand for any businesses to rend the space in the skyscrapers so they sit vacant. Since no one is working in the skyscrapers and no one occupies them, there is no traffic that would cause demand for land around them (for stores, restaurants and shops) so the land surrounding them stays undeveloped. Chinia does have a massive trade surplus they can use to finance this however it is very strange they are doing this.

They have to. Who else will instead of them. They plan whole economy, not just infrastructure as is in most of countries.
I live in Europe and there are similar situations, well not whole cities, but there are lots of unsold apartments. Our national bank got this apartments for the loans they gave to now bankrupted construction companies.
But reason why those apartments was not sold is simple, they are not the ones customers use. or are to big or o small or poorly made or nto energetic well build. When they were constructed, everything that was build was immediately sold. and Construction business grew 20% or more per year so as worth of square meter. After 2009 things changed.

Even if there are unsold apartments, builders are not ready to cut prices to sell them. Simple supply demand economics will tell them that prices should fall. Builders hold on to apartments in the hope that prices will rise again.
This angers me.  >:(

Uh, no.  Retail investors have left the stock market.  The only thing holding it up is free money being pumped in with QE forever.  Not saying a collapse is imminent but it will happen.

Man I hope this stock market drop is only a short term thing and it recovers. This is not good for our economy :(

It could be the best thing to happen to the ecom since the 1800's......  This could be the end of the FED.. The creators of america warned you MANY MANY times that if the banks were to ever become controlled by a private entity you'd find yourselves homeless through inflation and deflation...

Stock markets are not economic indicators. The economy already stinks, stocks are just correcting the massive divergence.

As long as the supply of fiat increase, the stock price will rise.

This should be good news for crypto. Nowhere to hide soon with your money except crypto. I predict a big market crash these coming months

Canadians, Auzzies, all euro people do the same shit.  The amount of people in my country that have debt that is 200%+ of their income and still keep buying TV's, computers, Ipads, spend $500 on a night on the town....

I AM THE 1% I HAVE ZERO DEBTS..  I have convinced a couple friends to atleast hold hard assets at least.

It all depends on this QE, if they interrupt it for good (which won't happen for real, but markets may overreact to some signals) or they announce they will start QE4 as they intended all the way we won't go down for some time I guess.

It seems like the FED is back to QEing, so I doubt there will be any crash soon.

a crash is coming, the only question is will it be the stock market or the dollar.
