Hello,

I want to present my very first webapplication. ( www.fiveminutecoin.com (http://www.fiveminutecoin.com) )

On this new platform you get bitcents for free. The only thing you have to do is wait “5 Minutes”. By clicking some ADs you can reduce the waiting time. When the count shows “0” you are able to insert your bitcoinaddress into a given field. By clicking a “send” – button the shown amount of coins will be sent to you. (If you enter a valid address!!)

There is either a tool to create these Ads or you can set a link to an already created banner.

To do this there is no need to register, so it is called “instant advertising”. Just setup the right AD save it and pay the amount of bitcoins you like to the given address. With this address comes an ID ( In order to view your statistics you should write down that ID ). The more you pay the more clicks you get. If a visitor clicks on your AD the clicks will count down until they are gone and your AD will be removed. In a special field you can insert your ID, push the button and view your statistics. ( Clicks left and Clicks clicked will be shown )

As the beta version this application is fully functional. If there are any suggestions for improvement feel free to inform me about it. (same for bugs)

0.001 BTC for a 5 minute wait?

CoinAd pays 0.002 for 5 seconds. You're doing it wrong lol

i'm guessing the part that says WaitSeconds should actually tell me how many seconds are left, not just say WaitSeconds.

I tried it many times.. and IT DOES show the seconds left!!

Whenever I wait 5 minutes, and then click on "CLICK HERE TO GET SOME COINS...", I'm unable to type my adress into the textbox. I've tried it in a few browsers, I simply can't click on the textbox.




Sounds like you may have some issues with different browsers. It did display wait x seconds for me though.

i tried in chrome, firefox, ie and it shows 'WaitSeconds'.

also, i used chrome's document inspector to enable the text input and the send button, and also ran things through the javascript console.

while digging i found this error:

i was down to 148 seconds, then i clicked on one of the ads, only this time it was a 'placeholder' ad that just linked to fiveminutecoin.com

trouble is, this put the timer back to 280 seconds :/

also, i opened it up in 4 different browsers....

chrome, opera, ie, firefox.

so they all started at 300 and were counting down their own countdowns, with a few seconds difference as i opened each browser.

then suddenly they all just stopped counting down... one is on 87, one is stuck on 119, one is stuck on 94...

bizarre, not sure how that could have happened across 4 different browsers, all suddenly freezing the javascript at the same time.

edit: actually sorry, ie 9 doesn't ever get past 299... tried a few times with that one.

I waited well more than 5 minutes. Then clicked on middle. Next I pasted my tip jar wallet and pressed send. The result is "go cheating somewhere else!!!!"

I do not think I have done anything that could ammount to cheating...

edit: I tried again, this time it worked as specified... strange.

cool, seems to have worked this time.

one suggestion: some sites like rapidshare cause the countdown to pause if you move focus away to another window or tab.

on your site, i can open it in a background tab and do something else for 5 minutes while the counter counts down.

How about a referral program? Other sites like CoinAd and BitCrate have it, and I think i's a great incentive for others (like me) to spread your link.

Sorry, didn't know there was two threads,I posted in the other thread. Anyway.

Clicking on Ads doesn't reduce the time

and the clock just keeps cycling. I was playing around with my settings with 30 seconds or so left, when I finished, there was 4.5 minutes left. I figured I refreshed the page, so I waited, and the same thing happened. At 0 Seconds, it went back to full time.

And, I ordered 1000 impressions of my Ad, do I need to activate anything?

You dont need to activate anything.. it is already viewable ;)

and it happened to me 2 times using Nightly, I'll check it again but with Chrome this time.

SO Far:

On Chrome, clicking on the ads does not reduce the amount of time, it just stops the timer until I go back to the main fiveminutecoin page.

Ok, I must have been refreshing the page by accident, yes the timer doesn't start over after hitting 0.

As you noticed: I did a few changes on this site. One of these is that clicks doesnt reduce time anymore. I did this because there were too less real clicks and this isnt something an adertiser wants..! But there is a chance to get more coins if you click these ads now..

Hm.. seems to have worked in general.. just a few things i noticed:

1) Time stops whenever i open another tab or program - but resumes once i click on home again. Is that designed to be that way?
2) I made a withdrawal to 1B49L6KjA5uRs3h9n27cX9DcyXTGU8cnvM some while back.. didnt receive so far.
3) You could tell people their ip is "banned" before they waited their ass off :P

Oh, and i entered virtualminer to the ad pages..

The coins are bundled up to save the transaction fee.. is it already there?

First: OK, thought it was right that way.. nice idea..

Second: Yeah, i just received it after i did post the messge

third: Banned is the wrong word. Seems you can earn BTC nly once in 12hrs and you might want to tell users before you make them wait.

this was only luck.. i didnt send anything ^^

in the "how it works" section you can find this sentence: "You can receive bitcoins twice a day."  ;)

Like a used car dealer: "You paid for a car, noone said anything about an engine" ;)

Hm, is my Ad gone? I had 1000 clicks requested for virtualminer.eu (ID 330) - yet it shows no stats and constant refreshing doesnt show the ad :/

yes it is gone.. you paid only 10 clicks.. maybe you meant 1000 views?
I only see 10 clicks in my database..

THIS APPLICATION WORKS ALSO WITH ENABLED ADBLOCK NOW!!

Is this by design? (If so, you should mention it on the "How It Works" page)
1.) Visit the site -> 0.0025 BTC
2.) Wait 5 mins -> 0.005BTC
3.) Click on ad -> 0.0025 BTC

Also, the site claims "Wait five Minutes = double amount" in the hint box. However, if you click on ads until you get the 0.01 BTC reward and then don't cash in but wait the rest of the five minutes, the reward doesn't increase to 0.02 BTC but drops back down to 0.005 BTC.

I`m very sorry for this bug.. someone told me already.. I`m on it ;)

Found another bug.. someone just tried to cash out all my bitcoins!! But it is fixed and no bitcoins sent!

But, like previous posts, my time is not reduced if I click on ads...


Overall, it is a great site, and you pay our quickly...always a good thing

EDIT: I also said concept b/c many of the ad spots are unfilled...leaving me to wonder about sustainability.

My comments are purely from my limited point of view, I have no Idea how much BTC you have in reserve, but I thing your focus (if it is not already there) should be to get more advertisers.

There were several attacks so I had to go offline while improving the code..

It is up running again and hopefully such attacks will never happen again!

I always get "check your link again.. (maybe you are already on the list?)" when trying the free advertising function. Even with newly-generated links.

as "staying there" it counts if you stay on advertisers sites for a minimum of 30 Seconds! The longer you stay, the higher the chance to get the 0.01 ;)

The free advertising should work again now! But there is only one link from every domain allowed! So it also only one shortened link from each domain like   https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php  there will no others appear in the list if someone tries for example this link: http//cur.lv/brt !
As I already said.. the free advertising is just a testing thing.. if you really want to advertise on my site it is very cheap and you should use the instant advertising option!

fffeee, correct me if I wrong, but the only thing you have to do to post an ad is go to the instant advertising section of the site, and follow the directions.

@mlawrence: You should use the application because it is automated..  If you create a banner (250*100) and upload it somewhere you can simply insert a bannerlink ;)

like vernon said: create an ad or insert banner url.. then pay the amount you like to the given address ;)

How were you attacked, and, was anything taken? (basically, were the attacker successful)

right.. it was a coding problem. I`ve found some bugs that made it possible to steal some of my coins! But not that much.. ;)
