If the dev of cloak/CINNI/CRYTPT and every other scam anon coin would actually stick to one coin he would make a very successful one, but he makes more money creating new coins all the time.

This isn't about the best anon coin
It's about the best anon communication platform

Probably XC or SDC then.  SDC's dev, rynomster, was the first in crypto to invent p2p encrypted messaging.  However, XC is more established / reputable.  At least for now, those are the two coins at the top.

SDC & XC's EM solution is very similar, however XC just released testing for Group Chat EM.  Then again, SDC just released the first-ever HTML5 wallet last night... and it looks pretty amazing.

Communication platform? I would have to say none. Coins are a currency. If you want anon comms then its I2p or Tor. Anyways, do you really want your encrypted messages in a blockchain that lasts forever? I certainly would not.

Current EM solutions implemented in XC and SDC operate outside of the blockchain.

BTSX has TITAN. So far nobody has shown that it doesn't work.

The future Bitshare products will also be using this TITAN.
What is titan?

From their BitShares Wiki:

http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/TITAN

I also recall one of their dev's talking about this is only v1 with many improvements coming down the pipe once BTSX becomes more stable.

Nothing was hacked and who said I was invested?  Interested? Yes, as everyone should keep on eye on 2.0 tech as it takes bitcoin to the next step even if they succeed or fail.  Too much bias and fud around these forums.

Your trolling, even if spreading negative fud, actually just attracts more attention to said topic.  Marketing 101...

Plain and simple who wins the next communication Giant.... Shadow Chat has #1 UI for chatting with Encrypted messaging And its also the First HTML5 wallet.... Plus voice video and File support on the way!!! No one is even close on this front  ;D

Introducing Shadow, the wallet experience will never be the same.

After more than 500+ developer hours, we've completely reworked the Satoshi client framework from old and busted into the new hotness (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ha-uagjJQ9k). Our initial goal for this release was to create a user and developer friendly experience, while keeping privacy a cornerstone of the project. We believe we’ve succeeded and our new interface is the foundation that will shape the future of the Shadow ecosystem.

Shadow resembles more modern application frameworks both on the frontend and the backend. We’ve taken a different approach to our privacy counterparts at DarkWallet. Instead of building a wallet into a browser framework, we’ve built a browser framework into a wallet.

The entire front end is written in HTML5/CSS3/JS using QtWebKit widgets and C++. The result is a more interactive and streamlined Shadow experience for the end user. We've made sure not to put passwords or anything insecure in Javascript or Html, so your information is just as safe as the prior client. To our knowledge, this is the first “cryptobrowser” to hit the scene. Although there isn’t actual web browser functionality, the application framework is there to build applications that run on top of the Shadow network. In the future we’ll be releasing a ShadowSDK for interested developers and entrepreneurs.

The new interface includes all of Shadow’s previous innovations: dual key stealth addresses (ShadowSend), encrypted messaging (ShadowChat) and our simplified payment verification system (ShadowLite). It also includes UI improvements on existing CoinControl technology.

Our next step for the will be integrating the new interface into our mobile line (ShadowGo) as well as adding features to improve upon the new interface.

ShadowChat

Shadow’s advanced P2P encrypted messaging system is back with a massively redesigned front end. The new interface is more modern and user friendly. Unlike other messaging platforms, ours has no central server routing messages; everything is encrypted end-to-end and P2P. Setting up a new conversation with a friend, colleague or business associate has never been easier.

To get started you’ll need an address and a public key.

     1. Create an address
1a. Your public key will be created

That’s it! Share your address and public key with your desired counterpart and begin communicating privately and securely.

To begin a conversation with someone, you’ll need his or her address and public key.

     1. Select the “ShadowChat” tab and click “Start Conversation”
     2. Enter their SDC address into the “address” field
     3. Enter their name or alias in the “name” field
     4. Enter their public key into the “public key” field
     5. Select the “Start conversation” button

All done! You’ve successfully created your first ShadowChat conversation! Enjoy chatting knowing that “Big Brother” isn’t listening in!

It's hard to argue with that interface, it's beautifully designed. Plus a few of us tested group chat about a month ago so I shouldn't think that's too far away either.

Are any of the other messaging systems open source? Shadow's lead developer (Rynomstr) pioneered cryptocurrency layered encrypted messaging on a bounty basis during his work at CINNI. ShadowChat is an advanced version of his original work there. It would be interesting to see how many of the coins in this poll are actually using his code.

I haven't seen any whitepapers either for the other coins.. here is Shadow's: http://www.shadow.cash/downloads/shadowcoin-p2p-em.pdf

One thing to think about here is adoption. Modern communication applications like Skype, WhatsApp etc have a user friendly interfaces. Do you really see someone shifting from WhatsApp to a standard Satoshi client? I haven't seen one interface here (besides Shadow) that can compete with the big players in the communications vertical. Shadow is also the only client here that is HTML5.

Another thing to note is Shadow has mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms. The new UI update for Shadow mobile is around the corner. If you're going to compete in the communications vertical you need to have a presence on all development platforms not just Desktop. Lastly, Shadow is also the only coin here with a Simplified Payment Verification (SPV) system (ShadowLite). Even if there were competition on the mobile front the blockchain sync would take forever compared to ShadowLite.

Competition is good for consumers, but let's be real here you can't compare anything here with Shadow. xD

You will see two tiny boxes on the right. Click on the "Left Tiny Box" to dial.

5-Watch the "Call Status" box, You will see it say "Calling".

Whoever is Receiving the call has to accept the call by clicking "Answer Call"
that will show in the box above the "Call Status" box.

Competition is good for consumers, but let's be real here you can't compare anything here with Shadow. xD

Agreed, the synergy across all of Shadows features are unrivaled. SS2 followed by Voice, Video and File support and we are looking at a great contender here..I'm an avid supporter and this tech stands to liberate many in a non intrusive and uncomplicated way.

Korecoin is a good coin. But it has the one lazy and slow developer that has some skills in voip and no more. Thats all in my eyes. This coin won't be on top, because there are very very strong competitors that surpass kore on the heads.

Shadow and xc have very strong dev teams with very skilled and very talented developers. Rynomster is shadow teamlead and Metcalf is xc's lead. This both are gods in their work. But xc has several times bigger market cap, soon Shadow will have the same market cap. And second - shadow has very fresh and unique technologies that no one has. This is the future.

This is MY experienced and analytical opinion

Please keep your posts directed towards the benefits of each platform.

In my experience the devs of xc, sdc, and kore have been excellent.

Well I have tried the features on each coin.

I'm gonna rank them as I see it.

#1 =  KORE   though shadowcash's   UI was much cooler it wasn't as cool as anon voice chat.

#2 = SDC   if shadow adds in VoIP it would be the best by far, in fact it's mobile wallet ranks it as the best of the three for use ability,  but until it allows for other forms of communication it will remain second for communication.

#3 = XC  if Dan can make xc a Web 3.0 and introduce other features it would defiantly compete for #1
So far It's probably the best anon coin of the three but it's messenger is the least appealing of the three.

I'm invested in all three coins   and hope they all do well.

Feel free to flame on

No need for flame, i think thats pretty accurate i wont go into what i think might be a little off but i think kores early basically alpha voip has put it up there in terms of communication.

Disclosure: I am an avid fan of sdc not mainly because i hold bags. If you knew me you would know i love the tech in this space and i just want to encourage you to keep an eye on it.
It really has some big stuff in the pipe that wont be released to the public until its in testing phase which wont be long surprisingly.

Im super excited because of how these coins have moved so far away from the clone a day coins to now some real innovation. People putting their specific skills and implementing them into their project.

We may dislike what doge has done to this space but what we fail to see sometimes is amongst all of the kids it drew in. It also motivated many developers with real skills to come in and see how they can to make a start and also cultivate some real innovation in this space.

I believe Doge and Bitcoin had a major role in this early this yeah. In my opinion we are just now seeing some of the fruit and for that i am thankful for them :)

Tox has anonymous chat, group chat, VoIP and group VoIP.

Its an open source, decentralized and anonymous replacement for Skype.

It is already fully functional.

Retroshare also does this.

There is no need to tie a communications platform to a block chain ledger.

if i was just as narrowminded as that statement was i could say there is no reason to tie a blockchain to fertilizer so just work out why there is and apply it to everything else we are working on here!

The reason why I mentioned it is because a communications platform does not need to store data in the block chain / public ledger, because there is no transfer of ownership in the process of communicating by voice, video, text or file sharing.

However, I appreciate and also respect that you have a different view on this.

Personally, I believe that the effort being spent is better put to improving Tox (and integrating with coins via ID/username linkage). Tox is based on the same/similar principles (decentralized nodes) as the coin attached solutions, except that it started before these coins (Tox started 2013), and also is in a more complete state at this point. Give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised just how much of a usable Skype replacement it already is:

http://siliconangle.com/blog/2013/08/05/tox-a-replacement-for-skype-and-your-privacy/
https://github.com/irungentoo/ProjectTox-Core
https://wiki.tox.im/Binaries

In particular, Nxtty pretty much works just like Skype, complete with centralized message routing (https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=4267.msg77051#msg77051 (https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=4267.msg77051#msg77051)). Only difference is that Nxtty are not big enough yet - but eventually they may be forced by governments to record and hand over the data just like Skype (remember that Skype is cryptographically encrypted - people just believe that the server in the middle can decrypt the messages - which is a valid concern).

PS: Having reread the title of this thread, I guess I should not have really got involved since the question was which coin will have the best comms platform - as opposed to which network offers the best decentralized comms platform.

Its about using the network. Adding features only strengthens a network because it motivates use and people will inevitably be paid to host a node of "x" coin to strengthen the decentralised network that these apps will ustilise!

When you have such a network like these coins do that people use and support. Then you add features that can also help to reward the people for hosting a node you then allow the network to grow in such a way it will handle almost anything and cost virtually nothing to an individual or business to use. Thats where the real value comes in and opens up your networks options even more.

Financial incentive breeds adoption, in 20 years ask how many people know of tox and how many people know of one of these coins that have a skype replacement in them or run an app that utilises a coins network.

Love how eloquently you guys discuss this topic.
Your expression regarding the benefits and redundancies of a communication system within the block chain are very helpful.

It is my belief that the crypto currency that ties the world through communication will become the platform that the trade in a virtual world will follow.

Exciting times!!

I guess KoreCoin but personally I think communication integration into the wallet is silly, and a gimmick to pump the coin. And a potential attack vector.

Hmm....  disagree if you want, but I think communication is the most important thing in commerce.
