Additional question for the discussion - do you think he can push the price down with such a blatant manipulation?

Personally I think that once it becomes so obvious he'll lose much power in that manipulation.

I believe hes the manipulator, however his reason is another story. I remember after the $250 bubble he did say some of the tricks. The key is to psych everyone. The dude is a fox.

Long shot - but he might think that this would scare people even more, or maybe it was just rubbing his ego.

I don't know - looks like he underestimated his power. If he was smart he'd save some 3K from that huge amount for a moment like this one. If the price was pushed down now (it is now at 322 after another attack on 333) after so much hope generated from the fallen wall he could start another selling cycle. Or maybe not - I would not try it anyway :).

I think he was the "responsable" from the yesterday "panic sell"  ....

For some reason I have a grudge against the hardware manufacturers and mining companies. If the low prices would make those dudes go broke then I'm actually enjoying these prices.

His intention was to lower the price.
The opposite happened.

His intention was to offload when demand was high.

It worked.

This was his intention.
