To do this completely anonymously, I'd recommend localbitcoins.com. However, prices there tend to be higher than most exchanges. Unfortunately, I don't think you are going to be able to do this without going through BTC, unless you are willing to find someone you trust to send you BTCD directly in exchange for cash, or maybe through Google Wallet.
