They should release it as a torrent with a QRcode at the end of the film for donations. They'd probably get a lot more in the long run

I'll buy a copy and watch it on Friday when I have time, albeit a shame that the movie will be torrented. However I think a ton of Bitcoiners can spare 13 dollars to watch the movie and will make sure too share it with others.

Just purchased. I think it is a good thing that it is torrented. That way, it will reach a wider distribution than otherwise, although I purchased the full copy.

Wow finally. I have been waiting for this for so long.
Some things though feel like it is ancient history  :-X I guess time flies in the bitcoin world.

Somebody needs to encode this into a smaller file.  Don't really need a 1.6 gig documentary. 

Just got home from the doctor and bought it for $14.99 on Vimeo.   Was just gonna rent it, but I wanted to help support the creators...(even though $14.99 is like nothing)

I pre-ordered to show my support.  I don't have time to finish it this evening, but I like what I see so far.  I will probably share it with some folks at work to spread the word.

Ya know, it's an interesting catch 22 - using bitcoin to move out of the old school banking model but can't get off the ground without a bank.

Decentralized and out of the control of any central authority yet at the mercy of any given bear whale who puts 30k bitcoins on the market all at once...

Bitcoin needs to find its legs. It's either disruptive or it's at the mercy of the current system and paradigm.

It needs to break out in a real way. Stop building solutions that in any manner rely on current financial models. I see the potential for it to be independent but it seems all these founders, pioneers and leaders are doing at the end of the day is bowing down and asking permission from the powers that be.

That isn't going to ever allow bitcoin to be all it can be.

Just purchased and finished watching it. Tons of information to cover in such a short period of time, overall I think they did a good job. I also enjoyed the price/time perspective throughout, even though most people would say price is the least interesting aspect.

Holy shit! That has to be the fastest torrent release I've ever seen. MAXSPEED doesn't even get CAM versions of major movies out that fast.

I got it in like 5 minutes. Also, all the people in this video are either in jail or businesses have bombed amazing.

It's actually kind of sad to watch because of all the early destruction to peoples lives.

Edit: I just watched it and that movie is so sad I started tearing up like I was at a funeral. The poor guy is this great supporter of Bitcoin, an avid miner, saving his Bitcoins, then he orders from Avalon/BFL and can never recoup all that he spent. What a wake of destruction Bitcoin has been so far. Bring a handkerchief, you'll need it.

Everyone who likes the movie should go to IMDB and give them some good ratings so it gets a nice ranking amongst other documentaries...

I've only been able to watch about the first 20 mins so far.   So far it is a good watch for people who have used BTC for a long time, as well as newbies who have no idea what a Bitcoin is...

Sad they didn't go for a donation model with the movie...  it's going to get pirated anyway, so why not embrace it and offer it DRM free?  Seems oddly contrary to the open and collaborative nature around something like BTC =p.

As a bitcoiner I've certainly enjoyed watching it and i think it's great documentary. We need more like this to take bitcoin to the next level

There should be a sequel, like, what's happening now, all these new alt coins, all the big time scams, ...

I watched the movie. It was great. I would recommend to anyone who like documentaries even if they are not into Bitcoin (yet).

That's what I was saying. I guess most off it was filmed before some of the other exchanges had a lot of volume like they do now. Maybe they will release some supplemental footage. That would be cool.

AFAIK the movie is 1h 36m 7s long.

A 90 minute sequel would be better. Or at least another hour of supplemental footage. They could update this thing every year, like some sort of annual mini-series.
