Title: Things To Look for When Choosing an Exchange
Post by: Gianluca95 on October 12, 2014, 02:33:10 PM
With the price of Bitcoin dropping by the day, traders have to watch out for the market fluctuations as never before. Exchanges are proliferating as mushrooms after the rain, and it is getting more confusing as to the criteria to make a choice by. Is the security the top priority? Or liquidity? Or tech-support plays the key role? I guess each trader has to decide for himself. But to facilitate the whole choice process, I decided to volunteer and prepare an assessment table of pros and cons of some exchanges that I have recently tried out. So here it is:

So here is my list. I know there are many more exchanges by now, but these are the ones I have dived in myself and can make an educated conclusion about. Hope this will be useful to some. Stay tuned…

You can delete MintPal from the list as this exchange is nearly history.

There are sooo many exchanges nowadays, and still, new exchanges pop up everyday.

I always prefer exchanges with high volume and exchanges with an established name in the market such as Bitstamp and BTC-E.

Yes nowdays people make new exchange like made new shitycoins.
Some are use this way only to scam later , maybe we should abandon all rigged exchange and pick the best and the big one.
But Gox proved everything can happen in this shity world  :P

Cryptsy has good volume on many of the alt coins, and their support has been good every time I needed it.

I'd much rather remove cex.io from this list. I am far to busy to do your research for you, but on there is ample evidence that they are criminals. They have been caught red handed double spending and abusing their mining power to attack Alt coin chains. They have even publicly admitted such. The evidence is there on the forums and in Google. And that's BEFORE this whole 51% thing blew up. In my opinion they are pretty much shady and dishonest to be the top trading platform choice.

I see you posted some alt exchanges so what about Bittrex. I trade more volume there than MP or other
and it's quite better than others too.

I agree. Bittrex for me is the best exchange if you wanna trade altcoins, expecially intra-day; instead it's not recommended for long-term investing because of their coin-removal policy.
