Title: Is the Bitcoin currency an underdog? Post by: weex on May 17, 2012, 06:39:32 PM This question was triggered by hearing the very entertaining podcast below. In it they explore why people root for the underdog 80% of the time and the others root for the expected winner.

Or do you view it as the long-term winner over established national currencies (i.e. it'll just be a matter of time)? Post by: tvbcof on May 17, 2012, 08:03:35 PM I personally think of Bitcoin as a completely guerrilla currency because I strongly suspect that if/when it gains any significant traction, that will be the role it is forced into like it or not. I anticipate that the forces which aligned against Bitcoin if/when the shooting starts will render Bitcoin a significant underdog, but the strengths that it possesses do not preclude a favorable outcome and it could win some notable skirmishes or pitched battles from time to time. |
