Title: The exchange named LakeBTC which I found in BPI of Coindesk
Post by: jay.latty on October 16, 2014, 12:22:26 AM
LakeBTC is one of the ‘Big Four’ exchanges that decide the ‘Bitcoin Price Index’ of CoinDesk. Anybody has ever used it? Are they legitimate?

I used, but no additional feeling.

Just like Bitstamp, LakeBTC is only support Bitcoin virtual currency, and not any additional function ( e.g. lending, short, margin etc ) except buy and sell. But I think this is perhaps one of the success factors of LakeBTC and Bitstamp.

They have a 30-day volume of 150,000 BTC. That's a quarter of Bitfinex/Bitstamp. But what I wonder is if they are credible.

Maybe, but in the common greed and ambition, human beings are related. That's why these gambling games are popular.

Add one, Bitatamp and LakeBTC both are the gateway of Ripple. https://support.ripplelabs.com/hc/en-us/articles/202847686-Gateway-Information

But there are more different places, I believe the verification is the biggest difference, I'm annoying on bitstamp that they actually ask me where are my bitcoins come from? That's why I have been not to Bitstamp for a long time.

Are they legitimate?

I think that TreaExchange is the sole legitimate currently.

I have heard good things about it though I have personally never used it. As folks have pointed out, restricting themselves to spot long/short markets may be working for them

Compared to the price, security is more important

You mean lending, short, margin etc are evil?
