Title: Hosted Group Buy for Bitmaintech Antminer C1 (liquid cooled) INTEREST??
Post by: mstrongbow on October 16, 2014, 09:34:21 PM
Figured I would check interest for those wanting an Antminer C1, hosted (for best profit).

I will be buying myself at least 2 of these and will be doing all the build up work myself, which I enjoy very much as I am an A+ Certified Tech and a serious PC enthusiast.
Plus I figure buying parts in bulk and shipping to the same place should save time and maybe some $$.

I am waiting to hear back from my hosting company to see if this will be some they are will to take on as well since it would involve new customers, which is good and I know they have plenty of room. Plus there is a website in the works for SEGMining, stoked about that!

Anyways, feel free to post up or PM me with any questions, comments etc.
Thanks all!

SEGMining rates are $75/kW monthly and minimal fees, cheaper than what I pay here at home in Oregon!

mstrongbow, I thought SEGmining already has a website?
I saw it in their reddit post: https://segmining.com/site/ (https://segmining.com/site/)

Interesting idea, but the C1 is really expensive. 1BTC/TH without PSUs and without most of the cooling equipment seems like it would never ROI, unless there's something I'm missing here.

Not many miners include PSU's so that's not an issue here, not sure why you'd even bring that up and where else can you buy a 1 Th/s liquid cooled miner?
Oh and yes SEGMining has a current website but I was informed they are working on a new one, with more features etc.

Watch out for the ROI police, they are everywhere! Please keep comments about ROI in the proper Bitmaintech thread found here...

I will continue to mine and I see these units as great machines for the home or hosted but to each their own. This thread is for those genuinely interested, not to make comments on whether a piece of gear on the market is going to ROI or not.
Thanks!

I ain't trying to steal your thunder, man. They are some pretty cool little guys--It's unfortunate that they're priced a little high, that's all, and the power efficiency is a little bit disappointing coming from those chips. Is it possible that S3's are still the better buy here? Regardless, if we can get a volume discount, count me interested! The C1's have one thing going for them: they are sexy. Especially without the case on!

Also, I can vouch for SEGMining being legitimate. Ordered ~3TH/s hosted, and it just came online today. Incredibly smooth transition.

Just dropping by to say that we do know about this.  I'm also looking into what it takes to cool large quantities of these units without adding too much overhead to the price.

I agree, very good looking piece of hardware Bitmaintech has come up with! I would like to think the C1 miners will be using S3+ hashing board which could yield near 1.4 Th/s overclocked

I will be compiling a price list (with options) for the parts required to complete these miners, excluding the PSU as everyone has their preference. I will be sourcing from retailers whom accept BTC first and PayPal/CC option as well. I will also be starting a new thread for the Antminer C1 for assembly/modding/programming/troubleshooting etc. once I've compiled a decent parts list.

Thanks for chiming in bro  8)

75 usd a kwatt is food for thought.  my price here is nuts. 117 a kwatt  .  monthly at 16 cents a kwatt x 24 = 3.84 a day or about 117 a month.

Dude, the hosting prices have helped me out a bunch compared to mining from home...I've been able to increase my monthly profits a good 20% easy!

I would be thinking that a hoster would be a lot happier with aircooled than liquid cooled. These were, according to the salespitch, designed for low noise in the home and my hoster for example wouldn't allow me to use liquid cooling. The whole datacenter there is built on the basis of air in and air out for cooling.

Hey dude,
Good idea just be careful there are others that sell water cooled 1 th/s + miners all assembled and their prices are about to drop.

Our facility already hosts some liquid cooled miners.  We are ok with this.

well, I finally received my antminer C1. It is all set with cooling kit and operational. But it does not work. The web interface does not show up.
If I manually set up a pool in conf file using ssh. It still keeps working for some unknown pool because the PSU is consuming 1000+watts.

Anyone has received it and has it working yet?

Yes i had one working and one with this exact problem.   I uploaded the firmware to be helpful.  Most likely you have a corrupt SD image.

You will see dogie posted my upload here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=841344.msg9389747#msg9389747 .

I can say these are amazing quiet with cold ambient temperature.   I would think most hosting companies would love these.   So much less heat then Dragons and some older gen miners.   If cold ambient these run like a dream and quiet.  Have used free winter air to cool :)

Hello guys,
Anyone that has C1, is your hash speed consistent or not?
My average is 812 with variations from 767 to 1000 gh/s
