"advertise now! only 0.0005 BTC per click!"
That's not right, is it?

it is in the field with the coin inside ("CLICK HERE TO GET SOME COINS..."). There is a blue border around it..

What would you do to make it more visible? ;)

Something simple like this:

Cool. New version is better version. It's still not completely obvious to the first time visitor what they need to do. (Wasn't to me.)

Suggestion one is a quick fix. Change text to "Click HERE to receive your FIVE Minute Coins."
Or something else. Just be sure to make it immediately, explicitly clear to the user what they need to do.

Suggestion two: Put a new three wide <div> at the bottom, use white-space to separate it vertically from the ads, place the call to action there.

Edit: PinkBatmans text is perfect. You should go with that.

You iterate quick. :)

Better. But I still think "click here to get some coins" is vague,
compared to PB's suggestion of "click here to claim your coins".

I placed an ad in there for cryptoanarchy.com for 10000 impressions.  I was sure that the radio button was for 10000 impressions, but when it was running it was counting clicks down from 100 instead.

What? One impression per second per user?

No, when you purchase there are two options, purchasing clicks or purchasing impressions.  I purchased impressions and instead it gave me clicks (but 1/100 the amount of course).

Oh.. I`m sorry for that.. Cant explain why this was happening..!? Next time you notice such an error please contact me via the email (info@fiveminutecoin.com) so I can change this! Had a big database exam today (and passed it ;) ) thats why the answer comes so late..

next time you buy clicks or impressions you will get some extras (either clicks or impressions) ;)

Would suggest that you at least try to resolve and/or connect to the URL before allowing it through.
Someone has set up a ad for "Gold Game Land" that points to http://www.your-ad-url.com/
Also remove the default and only prefill the field with http://
It could be easy, just "GET" the ad URL with wget/curl/LWP::UserAgent with a timeout of 3 seconds and then make sure you get a 200 back. If not, then the URL is invalid.

And STILL it crash IE9 sometimes by clicking the ads.

Thanks for your reply..

I changed the url to http://goldgameland.com/ and set the views to its start amount again..

You are absolutely right.. very good idea! I`ll try to implement this today ;)

Clicking the ads, sometimes it render the error "A error with the tab caused Internet Explorer to close and open the tab again".
Just click on the ads for a looong time, lets say 100 different clicks.
The error appear random.

I don't get it... You have to stay in front of the open page for it to work? Doesn't seem to make sens to me...

Who would stare at a webpage for five minutes non-stop?

Am I missing something?

(The 'How It Works' button does nothing on my browser - Chrome)

This actually makes sense if you're moving about, and not doing any thing in particular that requires your screen to be totally available!

tried this again today and it seemed a little weird..

it was on 0.0025 and then it says "push your coins to 0.01 by clicking on ads", etc... so i did that and eventually it showed 0.01

so then, i entered my bitcoin address and hit enter.

i suppose at that point, most people would close the window, but i left it open as the count down still continued.

when the countdown got to 0, the "Your coins" went from 0.01 to 0.005 :D

i wonder how much i'll receive.

Quote
By visiting advertisers you could push your coins to 0.01!
As long as you are paying your visitors for clicking on your ads, my willingness to pay for advertising on your site is VERY low. Why should I buy 1000 clicks from you when hundreds of them will be from the same, uninterested visitor?

Title: Re: www.fiveminutecoin.com!What do you think about the new version?

The chance to get more coins depends on how long they stay on an advertisers site..! It is not just the click..

By the way: THIS APPLICATION WORKS ALSO WITH ENABLED ADBLOCK NOW!!!

Bug

I log in to the site and the Your Coins display shows 0.0025

I click on the ads until the display changes to 0.01

I let the timer run out and the display changes to 0.02

I click on the center box which reads "Click Here To Claim Your Coins" and submit my address etc.

I later check that address to see how much I actually get paid:  0.005

I did this twice to confirm. It only paid out 0.005 both times.

I tried it again and I got the 0.02 this time. Thanks.

A couple other things...

Once when I tried it I got the captcha wrong ( couldn't see the right letters against the background ) so I refreshed the captcha with the circular arrow thingy to the right and tried it again and it gave me a warning message as if I was trying to get a second payment in less than 12hrs.

And those operation fabulous ads on either side breaks one out of the page and when one goes back the timer is reset to 300.  That might upset some people who might expect them to act like the ads in the boxes.

how about coins are added in increments of few thousand satoshis every second,
for all period of 5 minutes and than stop?

also, increments could get bigger towards the end of 5 min period
for example
in first sec u get 1 satoshi, next second you earn 1.3 satoshis,
3.rd second gets you 1.7 satoshis...

so there would be visual incentive to stay on site , and stay longer

and make that number bigger (in screen size) :)

It seems you still have got a lot of bugs.  Many times when I press the submit button after inputting an address and doing the captcha it either does nothing or gives me a message that I didn't wait long enough. I know I waited long enough and the "user state" slider thing on the right confirms that I waited long enough and am not using a proxy.  By waiting long enough I mean both waiting 12 hours and waiting for the timer to get below 250.

/edit:  Maybe it was sent and it just didn't put up the message that it was sent? Will wait to see if 0.01 arrives.

Did it arrive?

Yes I got it when it seemed to be doing nothing ( no "payment sent" message ). There are still those other times when it gives that message about not waiting long enough when I have and the slider on the right confirms that I have.

Just tried it again now and got the "Maybe you didnt wait!?" message. It has been well over 12 hours since I last tried because your site was down when I tried it yesterday.
And the slider on the right shows: How long do I have to wait for the next payout? 0 Minutes

I'm having a problem. Earlier today I waited the 300 seconds and requested coins as usual. But the coins I had still showed up as “0.0” and it told me “There are no coins available!” Just now I tried again, and it tells me I've hit the limit for my IP even though I haven't even gotten any coins in well over 12 hours.

Edit: And now the 12-hour timer seems to have reset again. What's going on? The only time it should reset is when I actually get coins…

perhaps because I don't usually wait the whole five minutes anymore?

this is not working for me!

visited about 6 hours ago  and tryed to claim the 0.025 coins, put in my address and now 6 hours later there is not 0.00000025 in my account

went back to your site, this time waited the 300 secs and when I try to claim it says

"sorry.. your IP exeeded the limit.. try again in 12 hours!"

1 )  did I get the coins first time around?

2) why dont you tell people not to try again for another 12 hours THE FIRST TIME!

I think what seems to be happening is that the 12-hour count restarts every time a request for coins is attempted, whether it actually succeeds or not. The code should be changed so that the restart only occurs on success.

Hey,

I`m sorry for the late response..

I was working on these problems today and there were some (session variable) bugs. I hope it is gone now and this solves all your problems.
Usually your ip is written to the database only if your coinrequest is successfull..
There is also a UserState panel on the right which shows you how long you have to wait until the next request can be sent.

If these problems still occur please post it here again. Or even better.. send me an email (info@fiveminutecoin.com) ;)

Nope, got the "Maybe you didn't wait" message again...

fffeee do you intend on ever bringing the site back up or is this a dead project? Been down quite a while.
