Im ready for a Movie to come from Hollywood where the actor or actress makes a reference to and or uses BTC during the movie, not even a big part of movie just a small casual mention on the big screen could mean a big jump for BTC popularity i believe....

Documentary from small independent company is more likely. There just isn't enough audience out there to pay 20 dollars to see a bitcoin movie.

Only thing they talk about on movies is Credit Cards , nothing else . not even PayPal so how it comes for Bitcoin... don't think so  :'(

Nearly everyone is Hollywood is a bitcoin user BTW.

There are accountants that encourage "donating" money to charities, only to have the money kicked back to the "donator" a month after to avoid taxes. These same guys are now preaching the glory of bitcoin as the ultimate tax haven.

Loads of high net worth individuals are invested in btc through several different investment vehicles.

Not a movie that is 100% about bitcoin but maybe like a small part having an actor guy to some lil  kiosk and paying with bitcoin or even just a mention about bitcoin in the movie... lol i dont think they could make an entire movie about bitcoinn and it be innteresting unless it was some heist movie lol

Hollywood is bought and paid for, we all know it, so why even bother? I'm actually glad that we're seeing news organisations and the like spring up that are pro-Bitcoin it means we have our own places to get news and documentaries from.

I'm sure there will be a few movies that reference bitcoin coming out over the next year or so, but give it a couple of years and i'm sure there will be a film centered or based around btc. Maybe like a futuristic heist film. That would be cool.

You need to understand that some serious movies are made for at least 2 years. Where was bitcoin 2 years ago? How many people knew it exist at end of 2012?  I think movies that will come out at end of 2015 might have casually mentioned bitcoins.

well, let alone starring angelina jolie, which tells the story of a rescue mission inventor of bitcoin is held hostage by terrorists. and they succeeded in their mission and are rewarded 400bitcoin, they traveled the world with it with luxury living

Or maybe a movie about the inventor of bitcoin really being a time travellor that in the ends becomes a world power with the wealth his has accumulated from traveling in time implementing this thing called bitcoin with his future technology then returning to his own time 2040 to cash in on it...

Well bitcoin has been mentioned on The Simpsons, that's quite big.

Unless the community sponsors a movie, paid the stars with btc and so on. Nobody is going to give free ads, that's for sure

Give it a couple of years, maybe 2016/7, and I'm sure we'll see bitcoin being mentioned a few times. It's already started popping up in TV shows and I'm sure the mentions will only get more and more frequent.

Many tv plays have eps mentioned or even dedicated to bitcoin.
Give it time to grow, man. In 5 years, you'll find commercials everywhere saying "btc accepted"

You're gonna have to get more creative than just a small scene on the big screen. Targetting consumers is what you want, not movie watchers.

Bitcoin has been mentioned on several TV shows, and it can happen in movies too.

AppleByte, the crypto supporting the arts, has been featured in a major movie coming out next year, with the lead actress wearing an AppleByte T-shirt.

i bet apple pay will get featured before bitcoin knowing the corporate elite who control Hollywierd!
The best chance of something real is a crowd funded movie ..let's do this!!!  8)

I think BTC popularity is on the rise anyways..!! It will surely end up into a movie someway or the other...Its just about time.!!! A movie probably next year.!!  8)

Maybe we should write our own movies and try get them crowd-funded in bitcoin. That would be pretty cool. I'm sure movies and more tv shows will gradually mention or use bitcoin more and more in the future.

I heard Conan O' Brien mentioned bitcoin in his show. I think that is Hollywood enough.

Isnt Conan Based out of New York???? New York would be a good place for some BTC mentioning as well though, but when i say hollywood im thinking big screen

I've hear btc mentioned multiple times on different tv shows.  Jimmy Fallon, I think Parks and Rec, and the Simpsons are the ones I can think of.

it makes me excited to hear bitcoin increasingly accepted, but if they want to when their salaries are paid with bitcoin. lucky if bitcoin prices stable or rising, but if one hour later his prices down dramatically it will make them mad. although it can go up a few hours or a few days later

There was a show which came out earlier this year called Almost Human, about a cop in the future with a very human-like android sidekick.

They mentioned Bitcoin in the show several times. The problem with it, was that they used it as a plot device for shady / criminal activities. They would find a body and pull out some sort of stick looking thing and say something like, "Bitcoin...this guy must have been into some bad shit."

Maybe Hollywood isn't quite ready for Bitcoin. On the other hand, any publicity is good publicity. Remember the movie "The Net" back in the mid-nineties with Sandra Bullock. It came out at a time when probably less than half the population had ever even heard of the Internet, let alone ever actually used it. It was an awful movie, but the fact that they made a movie about the Internet meant it was ready for mainstream.
