Title: I am interested in mining but I am new so please guide me Post by: bloggersjoy on October 18, 2014, 04:24:56 PM Hello Everyone,
As the title say I am interested in mining but I am new in this field. I have a simple laptop. Can you please tell me which software is good and safe for mining? I can go for mining bitcoin, dogecoin, or any other cryptocurrency that is easily exchangeable. I run Norton as antivirus so I prefer to use a software that does not show up as a virus in Norton. Please suggest some good software that I can use for mining and earn some money. Please give your valuable advices. Thank You Title: Re: I am interested in mining but I am new so please guide me Post by: cp1 on October 18, 2014, 04:31:07 PM Be careful what you download. Make sure it's from a reputable website. I'd buy a small ASIC from Zoomhash and use cgminer. You won't make money mining, so you might as well buy the cheapest ASIC and lose the minimum.

Mining on a laptop is a sure way to turn it into a paperweight. As the title say I am interested in mining but I am new in this field. I have a simple laptop. You'll quickly see that you're a few years late to the game of mining for profit with your computer. Title: Re: I am interested in mining but I am new so please guide me Post by: crazyivan on October 18, 2014, 05:48:51 PM It s pointless using your CPU or GPU for mining now. This was profitable about a year ago. Nowdays you have 2 options:
1) go with cloud mining, take a look at this review in my signature for more options 2)buy ASIC miner Title: Re: I am interested in mining but I am new so please guide me Post by: Spartan_Miner on October 19, 2014, 09:28:46 AM bloggersjoy:
I am new to mining too. I have jumped into mining with both feet. I can say that I have lucked out and hit some snags. As others have said here, don't try to mine with a laptop-- you simply won't get anywhere! I have tried to download and run BFGMiner in Windows (7 Home Pro) but Norton keeps quarantining the exe file that runs it all! BFL's EasyMiner has never recognized any of my Block Eruptors, but I have gotten BFGMiner to see them via my Raspberry Pi (RPI). In that vein, some of the Antminer Block Eruptors are working well and some either won't mine or send BFGMiner into a tizzy. My next step was to purchase ASICs on EBay. To date I have a BFL 50 which runs like a champ, a BFL 5 that also runs like a champ, a BFL 25 and a BFL 5 that are either broken or don't have the correct power supplies. The BFL 5 did come with the wrong power brick (the seller put the wrong one in the box) but I have ordered a new power brick for about $8. I also have a BFL 30 that is enroute, traversing the huge US Military Postal System (has been in the system for 22 days now). If you look, you can get good bargains on these ASICs. My personal rule is to never pay more than $1 per GH/s. I have also purchased 2 Antminer S1s (180-200 GH/s each) as well as the power supplies for each. I have not received either of them yet, but the latest one I bought has been configured for my chosen pool (Slush's Pool) by the very generous seller, and it is currently hashing away for me until he boxes it up to send in the coming days. The huge upside for me right now is that I am in Korea, which means I am forced to live in a barracks. That means free electricity to run my miners. I should have this luxury for another 6 months. After that I don't know what the profitability outlook will be when I get home. I'll likely turn off the BFL 5s and just keep the bigger/more powerful ASICs going. But I am also hedging my bets and as of a week ago am the owner of two GAW Hashlets in the GAW ZenCloud. I have a 10 GH/s SHA-256 Hashlet and a 1 MH/s Scrypt Hashlet. The maintenance fees are $0.09 per day. I've been seeing pretty good returns on each of them, but nothing close to my ASICs that I am running. I've only been at this since the end of September, but I have learned a lot quickly. This mining is a roller-coaster ride of money and anxiety. I am not in this to get rich, but eventually I would like to make 1 or 2 BTC per month and I'd be ecstatic about that. Good Luck to you! You see, the problem is is that they're on a laptop. And GPU or CPU mining is obsolete now Title: Re: I am interested in mining but I am new so please guide me Post by: seriouscoin on October 20, 2014, 06:25:28 AM fuck, reading posts in here make me think i was reading a 2012 thread

Thank You I will pretend you are really new and not making a spoof thread. First and utmost how much money do you want to spend?? I suggest buying an 89 dollar item from crazyguy's website. it is called the r-box https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=612390.0 it is pretty quiet. It needs a power supply. you can buy a cheap psu like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027&cm_re=psu-_-17-139-027-_-Product and plug it into any pc with the right software and you are good to go. Now everyone saying you will lose money doing this is wrong. The truth is you will most likely lose money. I suggest using 2 pools to mine. this pool is winner take all if you mine the block you get 24.5 coins and you will be a winner. chances are small. mine at it 1 day a week. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=763510.0 the other six days mine here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=49417.0 you will earn back some of the money you spent. but most likely not all of the money you spent. by doing both pools you A) have a small chance at a very big profit. B) will certainly earn some of your money back. your outlay of money will be 89 + 13 to ship for the miner + 29 (after rebates) for the psu which can run at least 2 maybe 3 miners. oh get a BTC address. join coinbase below is my referral link https://www.coinbase.com/?r=519a0a349c794dd88100000d&utm_campaign=user-referral&src=referral-link but if you do not want to use my link here is www.coinbase.com lastly join a wallet like https://blockchain.info/ https://blockchain.info/wallet feel free to send me a pm Title: Re: I am interested in mining but I am new so please guide me Post by: ChuckBuck on October 21, 2014, 03:19:48 PM Just grab this thing, plug and play!
https://www.bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020141017110427977rQGR3pcf06BE You won't gain anything significant, but you won't lose your pants on any mining costs. Plus you get to say you're Bitcoin mining! Makes a nice desktop ornament and conversation piece as well. Title: Re: I am interested in mining but I am new so please guide me Post by: maxmark on October 25, 2014, 06:26:12 AM Alternatively,
u might want to try cloud mining, by paying for hashing power you get paid everyday. You don have to even mining yourself at all... There are three website offers lifetime contract (meaning you pay once, and you get hashing power for life !) : I would recommend to try : 1. Zeushash,Cheapest to try -only usd 0.899 for a lifetime contract https://zeushash.com/refer/3g1mth (https://zeushash.com/refer/3g1mth) they paid hourly on average... 2. https://www.genesis-mining.com/ Remeber, when purchasing insert this discount code : IEwNGK Advantage: Good return, lifetime contract Disadvantage: Expensive to try , u would only see payout once a day. Just try the cheapest one and see what you get in 90 days....... I previously have spent alot on buying hardware---but i regretted for doing it.....because of low profitability, and i mined altcoin which dropped in value... Title: Re: I am interested in mining but I am new so please guide me Post by: polarhei on October 25, 2014, 07:45:20 AM I have some suggestions.
You should try faucets first before you decide to. Currently mining is not enough. You will use below to try some, If doing correctly, one week for at least 100,000 satobits. If seriously, then cex.io or somehow is your friend. After you have collected at least 1,000,000 satoshis, Then you can try cloud hashing what the other said. Title: Re: I am interested in mining but I am new so please guide me Post by: Zawamiya on October 25, 2014, 09:36:33 AM Cloud mining is a terrible investment. Also, quit spamming your reference links. Not all cloud mining is terrible investment, pbmining is actually not bad. Title: Re: I am interested in mining but I am new so please guide me Post by: dandydavv on October 26, 2014, 02:07:29 AM i just started about 4-5 days ago about mining and investment about bitcoin or another coin.
in other hand, wiki and bitcointalk help you alot to start. just spent your time visit newbie guide then try to ask for those that we called "pro mining" XD Title: Re: I am interested in mining but I am new so please guide me Post by: mailmansDOGE on October 26, 2014, 02:10:23 AM Mining with just a laptop isn't going to make you all that much. I suggest you try reading a couple of guides to get your head around cloud mining.
Here's an example http://coinbrief.net/bitcoin-cloud-mining-can-make/ Title: Re: I am interested in mining but I am new so please guide me Post by: malev on October 26, 2014, 02:23:26 AM I say you should try mining online. It is called cloud mining. There are some great websites out there for that.
For example: LtcGear, GAWminers, Genesis-Mining, i actually gave a try to iHash today, (they just opened) |
