Title: Bit coin mining with CPUs
Post by: rockhadda on October 19, 2014, 01:25:30 PM
I'm just new to this but went through some readings. I just need your opinions and experiences on following questions.

Here i'm only referring to Bit coin mining with Computers, not with ASICs or GPUs.

Can any one mention about their earnings (number of BTCs) and speed of CPUs used, without considering the cost factor. If i use a processor of 1GHZ one month without stopping how many BTCs will i mine? Have any one tried to compare mining LTCs with computers.

Thanks

back in 2012 a cpu was doing 1 btc a year if that.
so I would say 1 btc a century if that for 2014 speeds.

Sadly gpu/cpu mining is dead for most.  There really is not a only cpu coin that is profitable.  Some are able do do x11 or other on GPUs.

But overall most have stopped mining gpu/cpu.  There just is no profit in it.

there's profit only if you have a botnet(millions of computers under your control) mining for you on eligius ..

It isn't profitable even with millions. If eligius detects you with millions of slow connections, they would probaby suspend your account. It is still not profitable even if they don't do so. If you are talking about mining with botnet in the 2012, you would probably mine a Bitcoin a day. At current difficulty, you would be lucky to even hit 0.001 BTC a day
