Title: Artwork sold for 35 BTC in Inside Bitcoins Tel Aviv
Post by: Meni Rosenfeld on October 19, 2014, 06:41:04 PM
We are in the midst of the Inside Bitcoins Tel Aviv 2014 (http://bitcointlv.com/en) conference, and one interesting thing to report is that a Bitcoin-themed painting made by a local artist, which was placed on display in the conference, has been sold for 35 BTC (about 10,000 EUR) to Yoshi Goto from Bitmain. This is possibly the largest purchase of merchandise for Bitcoin in Israel so far.

35 BTC is an exaggerated amount for a not so well known artist. But bitmain has a lot of BTC. Maybe made the purchase to create news/ruckus to the bitcoin world. Therefore free advertising from 35BTC painting.

Good. This type of news will surely get the attention and indirectly help to promote bitcoin. Anyway nice painting with a hidden meaning

big propaganda for bitcoin. A artwork is worth a lot of bitcoin from a not famous artist. This probably incentivizes other artists to create more bitcoin related artwork.

Everything is for publicity.

The painting is well done indeed. I don't think the price is too high, because it's one of the first on this topic and the artist delivered a great work.

Actually I imagine it could be a good investment, because if Bitcoin is more popular more people will be interested to obtain "historic" items from the beginning of the Bitcoin history. Good investement in fiat money terms of course... not so sure if it will be a good investment compared to just holding the 35 BTC... ;)

ya.ya.yo!

Its a decent painting i like how the bitcoins seem to shine down from the sun i would prefer to buy the bearwhale one though given the choice.  Bearwhale has a cool story also.

I love that painting, anyone know who the artist is? I don't think this is a one off type of thing because the painting is actually very nice and professional. I could see that hanging on my wall, it would fit right in with all of my other stuff
