Title: Re: RFC: Non-virtual to Bitcoin currency payment gateway Post by: Anonymous on May 15, 2011, 11:48:21 AM It sounds like a promising project. Id be willing to invest through http://glbse.com (http://glbse.com) if there are shares issued.
If you can solve the credit card chargeback issue for dealing with bitcoins it will be a good thing. Selling bitcoins and accepting credit cards is just asking for trouble. Title: Re: RFC: Non-virtual to Bitcoin currency payment gateway Post by: ericools on May 15, 2011, 11:02:43 PM I would not only invest in this I would convince my friends to. Not that we have a lot of cash or anything, I would just really love to see it happen. Post if it goes up on the exchange.

Title: Re: RFC: Non-virtual to Bitcoin currency payment gateway Post by: elmom on May 20, 2011, 08:00:55 AM I've already invested in the two mining enterprises on glbse, this is much more interesting than those. I'd invest more than a trivial amount.
Title: Re: RFC: Non-virtual to Bitcoin currency payment gateway Post by: Mike Hearn on May 21, 2011, 05:13:41 PM Be careful with this and do lots of research. CC fraud using stolen card details is pretty rampant. It's not the case that currency conversion is as risky as selling hardware, because it's much more efficient to extract/clean money via CC->Bitcoin gateways than by buying hardware (which might be charged back before it ships). People do the work needed to charge back because it wasn't them who made the payment in the first place.
You may run into problems with currency conversion being deemed equivalent to cash loans. Selling currency for credit cards is basically a free loan, which undercuts the banks own business. If you can make it work it'd be a great thing, but it won't be easy. Title: Re: RFC: Non-virtual to Bitcoin currency payment gateway Post by: rpgreseller on May 22, 2011, 03:25:13 AM Make me a gateway and I'll use it at a company that processes about 1 million USD per month.
I don't know how many users would choose it, but I have already started to suggest to our CFO that we begin to support bitcoin as an option. For your idea, you suggest multiple e-wallet style currencies as well. Count me in. Very interested. Title: Re: RFC: Non-virtual to Bitcoin currency payment gateway Post by: fadisaaida on May 22, 2011, 12:17:21 PM wouldn't it be wiser to do the opposite Gateway ? so any site can start receiving BTC through the gateway and receive their equivalent desired currency ! ? (the value of the btc price on the merchant can be dynamicly changed to meet the merchant dollar, euro demands ). for example if i sell on my site a laptop for 1000$ , as a merchant i will get the 1000$ no matter the market value of the bitcoins. this way the currency itself will gain momentum through main stream sellers without them taking risk. Ofcourse this can be changed once the currency is adopted on larger scales .
im not economist so my logic might be flaued , and would appreciate correction instead of flame :) Title: Re: RFC: Non-virtual to Bitcoin currency payment gateway Post by: ISA on May 24, 2011, 02:26:47 AM hilarious.
