Well, newbies, I figured you all might want to get your first few bitcents. They might not seem like much at first, but they'll give you better interest than a bank. Plus, they add up, especially if you bookmark and do them every day. For most of them, you have to look at a few ads (click on a few, makes money for the site owners) and enter a CAPTCHA and a receiving address. Then, just wait a while- as many as 24 hours depending on the service- and there you go! It's quite the run-around, I know, but free money!

I honestly have no idea. The site author assures us he's not trying to break CAPTCHAs, he just wants to help out the reCAPTCHA project. You can take that at face value or not.

I've not come across reCAPTCHA before. Very interesting. I take nothing at face value, but I do know how to... Use The Source, Luke!

The CAPTCHAs on http://bitcoincaptcha.org/ (http://bitcoincaptcha.org/) do indeed come from the project. (Unfortunately, their pool is empty at the moment. If I had any bitcoins, I might make a small donation.)

Personally, I disable my ad blocker and wait patiently. The pool gets refilled over time, so whatever you do will (likely) get compensated eventually. Either way, helping to digitize books is never a bad thing.

Yes Kansattica, is. I'd say this thread has been bumped enough.

I'm making more than I would with interest at a bank, at the least.

Doing it when bored, over 3 or 4 days I've made a total of 0.0312 (or about 10p). That's a lot better than BitcoinPlus, although still really not worth it. But it keeps me amused while I'm waiting for my latest transfer to arrive with Mt.Gox. :-)

I started this out of sheer boredom as well. Almost have a tenth of a  bitcoin now. At this rate in less than 160 days I'll have a free bitcoin if rates stay the same........ Again I was/am just bored and fractions of pennies do add up:-)

Actually, I'm just a junkie for the "Incoming transaction" popup.  :)

wow, that post is awesome, I just knew 3 out of the services presented. They will be really useful to my business, since I'll require users to provide bitcoins in order to complete actions on the site.

It's strange because normally if you post a http link it links it... is the link blocked by a mod or something?

I have to say that poking small amounts of cash at Mt.Gox and just buying bitcoins is orders of magnitude more efficient. :)

Still better than the interest you'd get from a bank.  Plus, if nothing else, it's paying transaction fees for ya.

Coinworker's great, but one word of advice: Don't do anything worth less than five points. The best ones are near the bottom and say "Answer a few questions about a website", but all of the 10+ point ones are worth it.

I believe the payout from Coinworker is equal to about 1 USD per hour, if you consider how long it takes to complete a task and how much you are paid for doing so.

Coinworker's great for killing time if you don't mind repetitive work. When there aren't any good ones available, Bitcoin CAPTCHA's good for some little change. https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php

For CoinWorker you just need to wait for the right tasks. Right now there's one up which pays $0.01/2 pages, but those 2 pages can be done in 15 seconds... that's $2.40 / hour
And Fisher Investments uses CrowdFlower heavily, and their tasks pay $0.15/page, and the pages aren't that hard, so you can make a dollar in 2 minutes with them.

Supply and demand, man. Stop doing the underpaid tasks and they'll start paying more.

What is a Cashback Website?

It can be used for bot-nets.  The bot-net cannot do the captcha so the bot-net hires you to do the captcha for it.   :o
