Registered yesterday, still haven't received the verification email. I guess I didn't get approved.

I approved you just right after you registered D: sorry the email has gone astray, you should be able to sign in anyways.

I have used coinchat.org before and they are legitimate website and paying, though you dont know when they will credit your account but it happens as you continue to chat.

Hey, CoinChat.org was a pretty old site. That was the first one I went for free bitcoins. Now it appears in a complete different look. What happened to it ?

It was handed over a while back and we've added new features and updated how it runs and looks now  :D

P.S. It would be good if we can see how many messages have been posted by other user(s) in the tab like Facebook.

You can see how many have been posted in the rooms you have open but are not in and they have a red band when you have been mentioned. There isn't a count for when you have been offline because it is a real time chat room unlike facebook.

They already do that, though only for messages directed to you,

for example when they address me, or PM me,
the amount of messages show up in the tab :)
