Where are you seeing this? I checked BitStamp and it's only at $350ish.

Kind of reminds me of the time when the price of Bitcoin suddenly jumped up above $1000.

Check ALL exchanges and you will see that the only one reporting higher price is coindesk BPI.

I wouldn't say excited but I saw it and thought it was good news.

Looks like it's not the true price though.

Coindesk seems to think the price on LakeBTC is about $677 (hover over the little info button on the graph).  But the actual price on LakeBTC is around $352.

Back to normal now.

That being said, Christmas is nearing and the last 3 years of bitcoin history shows good prices for BTC around Crhistmas time ;)

It may be a bug but I hope it will go upto that figure around Christmas.

i saw this too. i didn't believe it at first. if you go to http://www.coindesk.com/price/ you can still see the plateau at 400 from 9:20 to 12:20

I've bought heavily over the last 6 months & am currently at a masive loss tbh but it'd be nice to get upto somewhere near 400 GBP so on average I'm even.

Dont sell all as soon as u break even at 400 GBP. Remember Tim Draper is awaiting 900 USD for 3000 BTC. HOLD IT !!!

Chances are that it will be dumped pretty hard many times before it get to 900.

So Tim is waiting to dump 3000BTC when the price hits 900$?

That being said, Liverpool Fan don't listen to this guy.
In fact you shouldn't have listentened to the guy that got you in for that price to begin with.
But since you did get in for that price then you know that selling below that price is a loss right?

Did the person that get you in advise you NOT to spend more than you can afford to lose?

If he/she did and you actually understood that then you would knw that you should hold for now :)

Check the other charts, it's probably just an error :)

Lots of Americans here so well done for realising I'm a Liverpool fan lol.

My BTC story is I was advised by a very, very rich client to invest in BTC & to just hoard them because it will be huge one day.

I've got 14 BTC now & I intend to hoard them in the desperate hope that one day it'll make me a tidy sum.

I don't spend them, they're all in cold storage just waiting & hoping.

I'm still holding out for a bit of excitement before the year ends. Bitcoin has been slightly depressing for me this year. I really thought btc would take off in 2014, and whilst we've had some great adoption news the price hasnt reflected this.

Dont get excited because of a bug, always check price on several exchanges  :P

Your boy gave you the right advice in my oppinion.

Hold, but do use some (not much) now and then to drive the demand upwards.
If you say you have 14 BTC - use 2 of them in an in and out situation.
Whatever you can buy with BTC do so then get that BTC back.
(basically replenish your coins with new ones, doesn't matter how much)

That will help drive the price up for your coins :)

PS: 14BTC is a shit load more than MOST of the members here have.
Keep that in mind and keep them SAFE!
Use multiple wallets ;)

I aim to get to 25 BTC then just sit & see what happens.
I should reach that target by about March 2015.

Whatever happens it's a hell of a journey.

I dunno 25 just seems like a nice round number.

It equals ons block, all miners in the word worked ~10 minuten just for you :) In Q1 of 2016, you will be the proud owner of two blocks (2x 12,5), if you manage to hold on to your precious BTC's...

I start missing those market buy jumps...its been too long=P
