/crypto/ - "3 Tips to Avoid Getting Scammed!" Article Link (https://kbve.com/crypto/2014/10/28/3-tips-to-avoid-getting-scammed/)

Remember to use escrow! There are a lot of great free escrows around (or ones that are <3%), a good one would be DevTheDev and his service!
Furthermore, be very careful when you are buying giftcards because they can be charged back or obtained used hacked (or stolen) credit cards...

The escrow list you linked in the article is just a (slightly out-dated) list of escrow service providers. You describe the list as "a list of escrows which are generally trusted on BitcoinTalk" which isn't the case I am afraid. For example, CoinGuard (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=123847) is on the list but I don't think he is generally trusted.
