honestly no one will be buying a 5 btc dept off you. That's just too much of a hassle finding who the scammer is for this amount of money.

iknowitsme just asked for a 20 BTC loan from me. He pm'd me his passport and address. Should I trust that?

My opinion - no way. I don't care about real ID photo and address somewhere in South Africa when other facts doesn't match. He wants to buy 2 HD5830's with 50btc loan and pay back 60+ within a month. He has only 5 btc (loan from IBB, checked in blockchain) i.e. he doesn't actually mining. There is no way to repay the loan with that hardware for such period of time.

My 5 bitcents.

Scammers *ALWAYS* have their hands out looking for loans and/or selling gift cards/coupon codes.  I haven't looked up iknowitsme's recent post history, but I bet he matches at least one of those categories.

He was offering Australian iTunes cards in another thread.

Is the passport address in Australia? If not, that's a red flag. der_meister mentions South Africa.

Yes, country marked as ZAF. And a big sign above "Republic of South Africa".

Hey Sen, have you considered donating to people like psy and bo2573 who call out these scammers and actually help people avoid getting scammed?  It sure beats giving away BTC to dishonest scum.

Maybe he scammed the bitcoins at a public computer and just wrote down the bitcoin address from the client on the machine.  He doesn't have the private key.  That's why he can't access them and that's why they haven't moved.  Just a guess.

That's gotta suck to get scammed by someone who's not even using the coins for anything. I mean it has to suck getting scammed no matter what but I'd feel better knowing that money went to a silkroad address or something.

Sen, you should be proud of yourself, even tho you were scammed.

You made a scammer put a shoe on his head and send you the pic just for 5 BTC. ;D

Just one thing bugs me: Why are all the t-shirts different from pic to pic?

I got that pic for free. I never had any intention of loaning and actually asked for a picture of a shoe on is mining rig's "head".

Without knowing the guy, I believe it's likely because he has a chronic sweating and body odor condition that requires him to be constantly be changing his clothes throughout the day.

As a former borrower, I would like to offer Senbonzakura 0.5 BTC if interested, for his continued efforts within the BTC community.  As this small gesture is all I can do right now, I'm sure others might agree to match my contribution to cover the loss as I for one would not like to see the Islamic Bank of Bitcoin get scammed.

That's a nice gesture.
I just don't agree with the "to cover the loss" reason. That's like saying to scammers to scam IBB because the ones that do appreciate what IBB does will cover the loss ;)

I disagree. I don't care to spark a debate, I just didn't want to be blunt and just offer 50 bitcents for a laugh at a guy with a shoe on his head.. lol

If he excommunicates you and everyone else, it should be ample reason to state that he is a scammer, especially considering your faultless reputation as a longtime interest-free lender here.
