Collateral should be send to a third party escrow.

You could do that if you want but I get to pick the escrow.

Escrow insures there isn't a collateral scam and what does the escrow matter as long as they are reputable?

If its an escrow I've used in the past it just makes me feel more confident that I'll receive my BTC (or Collateral) at the end of the loan.

Edit: I mean does it really matter if I have a preference in escrow? My preferred escrow is redsnow btw.

1% interest rate / month (=12.68% / year)
so for example I borrow 500$ (at a btc price of 400$ = 1.25 btc)
In 1 month I pay back 505$ (10 btc at a price of 50.5$, 0.5 btc at a price of 1010$)
So I want to lend dollars but you can provide the loan in bitcoin but I'll sell them immediately at the current marketprice
