If google disable your account because of some reason like gmail spam or any other google account violation only then you will lose access otherwise these numbers never go bad.

Just a note, this is not my main google voice number that was reclaimed, but it was the number used to verify to be able to get my google voice number. Is there a risk of my google voice number being reclaimed by someone else?

Hi, Forwarding number deletion is not a problem. I usually delete them from the account after adding google voice number. Your account is always safe because no one has access to that number. Your google voice number can't be reclaimed by anyone else.

I will need login details of your gmail to add google voice OR you can buy a fresh account. You can use Android apps to send/receive calls. For texting, you don't need any app, just do it directly by logging into account.

Google voice numbers doesn't work at the time of creating fb accounts. If you have already created fb accs without any restrictions to login then you can add them to it.

This is just about forwarding phone which I use just to setup account. Your Google voice account is safe and active and it will stay that way.

I was a little taken back knowing my calls and texts have been forwarded to another number. Probably something people should be aware of. I may never have found that had it not been for the notification.

Other than that glitch, I've been happy with the accounts.

I understand your concern now. You don't need to worry about it.

Forwarding numbers are mandatory to setup a google voice account and after I setup this number get disabled in a month or so because of inactivity so chances are that this number is long dead.

However you can always find it under 'Settings' of google voice account and untick for peace of mind.

I imagine since it's a VOIP service that most places that require verification on the web will not take this number as acceptable to verify; am I wrong? You are right, it's a VOIP number. Microsoft and many other authentications won't work with VOIP.

A word of warning for everyone who has a Google Voice activated account or is planning to get one. I currently use my legitimate (with my own personal mobile phone number) Google Voice account and was sent an email to verify my phone number again. I do not know if this is being done for everyone or if it is just for me individually, but it is the first time it happens since I first created my account years ago. If anyone who buys one of these gets a verification request from Google, you will be out of luck, as you obviously don't own the original phone number that the account was created with. This was not a problem for me personally because I used my own phone number from inside the U.S. when I created it, but I know this is not the case for most of you.
