Post by: pr0d1gy on November 02, 2014, 12:08:16 AM
You’ve seen the video on the front page with the twins? Think you could do better? We want to see it! We are holding a contest for our users to show off their video creativity involving CoinPayments. Rules are pretty simple. Make a short video of about 45-180 seconds showing how CoinPayments helps you with your business, or showing how it potentially help another business or individual.

The Contest begins on November 01, 2014 at 12:00 PM (Noon) EST and ends on December 01, 2014 at 12:00 PM (Noon) EST (the Contest Period).

First prize: 1 btc
Second place: .5 btc
Third place: .25 btc

Open to all CoinPayments users, Official rules and forms: https://www.coinpayments.net/contest

I like these video contests, but if the main prize is lower then my usual fee, it's not attractive to enter at all.
With these prizes you're only going to attract the hobbyists because the serious amateurs and pros are used to making more money.

EDIT by the way those girls from fiverr are charming and fun. Good pick. But if I were to make you a video I'd make it a bit more businesslike and serious, with a video screencap and good pro voice over, more like this : http://shapeshift.io/about.html. ( note that I made that )

I might give this a go if inspiration comes. Have been video editor/cameraman but it's been awhile ago. Thanks.

I agree with this. A pro video takes more than a chance to win a btc. Someone needs to work several days to produce something good and he wants to be sure to get paid.

Does the video need a voice over?

Well all depends, few months ago 1 btc would be more. ;-)
For now that's all we can put up, the winner(s) may get hired for more work depending on how it all goes, never know.
Nice work on that shapeshift video. looks good.

Understandable, but this is just a fun little contest to see what the community comes up with. You have till December anyways, so no rush. :-P

I guess that depends on what the video is, if it fees like it needs a voice over. It probably does. :-P

Generally a video with a voice over will make people pay more attention. It'll also mean you should use less text on the screen, because you want to avoid speaking out loud what viewers can read for themselves. Because that's treating your viewers like morons. Show or tell, don't show AND tell.
