Title: Creating my Mining Device
Post by: j_mh on November 02, 2014, 10:38:12 PM
I wanted to create a mining device dedicated to mining BTC 24/7. I have browsed some stuff on amazon about usb based miners and I have also considered buying a cheaper computer and getting a really good GPU for it. What would be the best approach? I'm looking to make an investment of sorts in order to make a profit back on BTC mining. Any advice?

:D  Your late to the party....buy BTC instead.  ::)

If you just have to mine with a GPU,look into X11,X13,etc. altcoins  ;)

Like he said, GPU is not profitable anymore.  Look at ASIC miners, even that is barely profitable even with little to no electricity cost.

I recommend block erupters. BEST value in SHA256 MH/S.

Are you in 2013? USB ASICs are not even profitable right now, they can't even breakeven with the skyrocketing difficulty. It is only a collector item now, you won't be able to earn with a USB ASIC.

Pretty sure he meant these: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=791827.0

Or... at least I hope he did.  Otherwise, either a) he's a complete tool... err... troll or b) it was sarcasm.

I think it was sarcasm.   Block erupters are the usb sticks.

No matter what miner you look at do some ROI math.

If you really want to mine then buy the cheapest ASIC (< $200) you can find.  The cheaper you buy the less money you'll lose.

First of all, you don't "create a mining device". Lol. If you're talking about adding GPUs to a PC for mining, then you're in the wrong forum. It hasn't been feasible to mine BTC with a PC in well over a year. Although you may be able to mine some altcoins with a PC if your'e really desperate. But again, wrong forum for altcoin advice.

Your late to the party.
Don't waste yout time/money with GPUs.... doesn't work nothing, in cryptocurrecy world, now.

But, if you want to try, try with a usb blockerupter or an antminer s1 (<$50)

good luck.
