Title: Creating my Mining Device Post by: j_mh on November 02, 2014, 10:38:12 PM I wanted to create a mining device dedicated to mining BTC 24/7. I have browsed some stuff on amazon about usb based miners and I have also considered buying a cheaper computer and getting a really good GPU for it. What would be the best approach? I'm looking to make an investment of sorts in order to make a profit back on BTC mining. Any advice?

Look at ASIC miners, even that is barely profitable even with little to no electricity cost. USB ASICs are not even profitable right now, they can't even breakeven with the skyrocketing difficulty. I think it was sarcasm. Block erupters are the usb sticks. No matter what miner you look at do some ROI math. The cheaper you buy the less money you'll lose.

If you're talking about adding GPUs to a PC for mining, then you're in the wrong forum. It hasn't been feasible to mine BTC with a PC in well over a year. Although you may be able to mine some altcoins with a PC if your'e really desperate. But again, wrong forum for altcoin advice.

Don't waste yout time/money with GPUs.... doesn't work nothing, in cryptocurrecy world, now. But, if you want to try, try with a usb blockerupter or an antminer s1 (<$50) good luck.
