Title: development that raises tx fees vs. development that lowers them Post by: rebroad on May 31, 2012, 12:09:09 PM I'm noticing patches going into bitcoind/bitcoin-qt that encourage transactions fees to raise. e.g. the free tx rate-limiter feature.
There are features that could be implemented which would encourage transaction fees to lower. e.g. a rate-limiter for blocks that have excluded free txs. In order to leave the power to influence the market and future of bitcoin with the node operators, rather than the developers, I propose that features that both raise and lower tx fees should be included, with such features disabled by default, but easily enableable using the command line or bitcoin.conf. Would anyone else be interested in seeing a "greedy miner" block relay limiting feature added, (in a similar same way to the free tx relay limiter), to even up the playing field?
