There might be a couple suicides I would guess.  Dropping from $1,200 to $1 is a large financial hit even if you own only one bitcoin.

lolz, bitcoin trading sites will crash, everyone will want to exchange with another coins !!!

I be happy no more altcoins just Bitcoins.

a LOT of people will be very unhappy.
but on the bright side, there will be no more silkroad (and some sites like that). and I can buy a lot of BTC and pray that the price will rise again  ;D

There will be a couples of suicides,murders and blasphemies without any ends  ;D ;D ;D. But I don't believe that this scenario will happen, there are much interest under bitcoin.

Mining companies like KNC, Cointerra and Bitmain will go bankrupt probably because of rising electricity costs. Mining only 100 bitcoins a day would only be 100 bucks compared to their electricity prices in the sub 10k per day prices. Also all of the mining equipment will go to shit and the difficulty will drop a lot. Of course, there will be hopefuls who will start mining it at the low difficulty, but not competitively.

I've said this because the difficulty would drop like a rock due to low prices of Bitcoin making it unprofitable for miners. This is the reason you could mine even 100 an hour (like Vod said from back in the old days).

It would make many investors suicide as a result of getting bankrupt or losing all their hard earned money.

IMHO I don't think that will happen (and majority of people posting in a bitcoin forum don't believe that too).
But BTC really reaches 1$ of course it wouldn't be nice for those who invested thousands of dollars in bitcoin.

I will very happy when I can re-buy many BTC I've just sold.

People will finally start using it as a currency, and stop hoarding it. :)

Maybe protests, people would kill themselves because Ive seen people investing all their money (savings) into bitcoins. and there will be rush buying of bitcoins.

It will not reach $1. It will surely vanish before it will reach that value.

I think people would think that there's some sort of exploit to get free Bitcoins and a lot would lose faith in the currency. Hopefully it's never $1 again!

That will be the end for many users it will leave many people numb but i don't think it's ever gonna happen

not about 1BTC = 1$

Some people would need to find a job or some productive way to earn money.

I'll play devil's advocate here. So everyone is saying that it won't happen, but so far no one has really said why they think it won't happen. Basically that just means that everyone is saying, "It won't happen because I don't want it to happen." I'm sure Americans in pre-1913 United States were saying things like, "There's no way the U.S. dollar will ever be a debt-laden, worthless piece of paper." But it is.

I'm not saying that I want it to happen. I'm not heavily invested in BTC because I got into it far too late in the game when it was, and still is, too expensive for a working-class guy such as myself to buy into. So I wouldn't lose or benefit in any way regardless. Just curious what the reasons are people think it will never drop to $1.00 is all.

The mining cost is way more than $1/coin.
As satoshi said: the price of any commodity tends to gratitaty towards the production cost.
