Of course Bitcoin is a bigger joke than the US dollar. The real question is, who is the joke on, and do they know it yet? Some help could be more competition for Casascius (which is great btw. I have bought some of his coins recently & satisfied :) ) - which will mean lowering spreads on the psychical coins and give them bit more exchanging value - now they are more like a promotional & collection gadget. By answering your own question (immediately) shows a closed mind and its a bit sad really. Still, ignoring your answer a more appropriate view is "never say never". As the depression deepens merchants must cut costs to survive.
