Title: Need web research done [1 BTC]
Post by: coiner8 on November 06, 2014, 07:02:01 PM
Need someone to gather a list of URLs of Bitcoin (and altcoin) related sites.  Such as:

- Mining pools
- Exchanges
- Mining hardware vendors
- Community forums
- Official coin sites
- Software (Electrum etc.)
- Betting sites
- News sites
- Bitcoin shops
- Paper wallet sites
- Web wallets

Old or new, even pretty much dead is ok as long as they are still online.  I need as many as you can get.  Completeness is more important than accuracy.  So if 10% of them are not actually Bitcoin related that is fine.

Just scraping URLs from wiki.bitcoin.it or coinmarketcap.com isn't enough.  I could do that myself.  I need someone who will be thorough.  Scraping URLs from bitcointalk.org and trimming them down to relevant ones is one potentially good option.

Payment is based on number of relevant URLs and diversity of types from the list above.  A list of just official coin sites or just exchanges or just mining pools isn't that useful, I need sites of all types.

Best case scenario is a list of 1000+ relevant URLs spanning all types.  That is worth 1 BTC.  I'll even throw in a bit more if it's a really great list that I can tell somebody spent a lot of time and attention on.  For other lists payment is 100 URLs = 0.1 BTC so:

300: 0.3 BTC
500: 0.5 BTC
1000+: 1 BTC

The format of the list is just domain names or full URLs:

https://cryptsy.com
cex.io
nxtcoin.org
http://www.ghash.io
...

I'm not always the quickest to reply so if you feel this is your type of job just post a comment below claiming it and get started!

I'll take the job, working on it now.

Title: Re: Need web research done [1 BTC]

Ok, these people were the first ones to claim the job:

Gianluca95
roslinpl
conteaza
Candystripes

So no one else should start working on it now.  I can't offer everyone the full amounts listed in the OP, but I'll divide up 1.5 BTC as fairly as I can based on the results submitted.

For those four, whenever you have a completed list, please send a decent-sized sample by PM and the total number of sites, and we can agree on an amount for the full list.  The bounty isn't large enough to justify the effort to escrow.  Please review my posting history to see that I've paid for work here in the past without escrow.

I will send you PM later with some example list, detail with how it was made and some more infos.

Glad to be able to help.

I'm a bit confused, I'll admit, and more than a bit annoyed with coiner8 and the way that people sometimes comport themselves here in the group. I hope that the others of you don't mind me venting for a minute, but right now I'm a bit pissed. After coiner8 posted the job offer, I responded on the forum that I would be happy to undertake the project, and that I was in fact getting started immediately. I also took a moment to PM him and explain that I had a website with many such links available, if he wanted to check it out, and touch base with me at his convenience. So I was getting a lot done, and  then I noticed that he had "assigned" the task to four individuals, who he claimed were the first four to respond. I had responded before three of them...yet coiner8 saw fit to "skip" over me without so much as a cursory explanation; likewise, he never bothered to respond to my PM and say a quick one liner, like "sorry, I went with the four members who have been in the group the longest", or whatever.

Now I know that I am pretty new here, but I've already entered banner competitions, and did a for pay job for a well established member here (for which he was very pleased). I don't begrudge these four the work...and I know that coiner8 can clearly do whatever he wants. But a little bit of consideration, and some measure of professionalism/courtesy would sure go a long way, imho. Not to mention, as an aside, that now four people will have to in some way "split" the 1.5 bounty...all at the discretion of coiner8, who already is a bit suspect, again, imo, for the way he handled the whole matter. After all, members were working on the project with an expected payout before he posted again...and now coiner8 will get 4 times the work product, all for the original bounty. Does that make coiner8 "clever", or "unsrupulous"...well, I guess everyone themselves will have to be the judge of that.

Again, apologies for the rant...it would just go a long way if some basic courtesies were practiced when everyone here is working hard to earn their bitcoins.

I've given over 1,000 gambling websites via PM, that took me the past 3 hours. I really hope I get paid.

If you pay up I'd be willing to do even more (different links). I'll update you guys here on whether he pays up or not.

For the sake of transparency, here's what I've gotten so far:

roslinpl - received list of 100 - good quality (not just betting sites)
sinecoin - received list of 337 titles - I need to verify his list has domain names

Candystripes1 - received sample of 279 - I need to verify if the total is 279 or 1,000
Candystripes2 - received list of 563 - good quality

Triched - received list of 527 titles - I need to verify his list has domain names and if 527 is the total number

conteaza - said he has a list of 1,200 - I requested a sample to determine quality and diversity among the categories

So far all of the lists look like they are good quality and diversity.  Once I get the questions answered I'll divide up the 1.5 BTC proportionally and send payments.  Hopefully today if everyone answers my PMs.

And for that guy expressing dissatisfaction: a) a forum is a terrible method to hire people but it's the best we have, and b) I was expecting one person to claim the job and everyone else would see that someone had claimed it and not start working on it.  But more people replied and said they were already starting to work on it, so I feel obligated to divide the payment up and even added an extra 0.5 BTC to the total amount.  Best I can do.

I asked you about few things in my PMs to you.  Are you gonna to answer my questions as I don't received any PM from you.

Please answer to my PM in which I sent you the 100list.

Are you referring to me?

Because I was the second person to start working on it; I PMed you, and posted before anyone else had a chance to say they were working on it.

You completely ignored the fact that I said I was working on it when you chose 3 people to pay who had all posted after I did. You ignored that fact a second time with this post. I'm not sure why you can't see that when you said the following, you were completely lying:

Ok, these people were the first ones to claim the job:

Gianluca95
roslinpl
conteaza
Candystripes

It worked out well for you, though...since you got the accumulated work product of FIVE people for about the original offering price (since you said you could go over 1 BTC with a bonus for a great job)...which you clearly anticipated, and took full advantage of. Which makes you no better than a run of the mill scammer, just IMHO, since I know you're a liar for a fact.

It doesn't surprise me, that he hasn't paid yet. I don't know why anyone would have sent him work after he already showed he was a liar in this very thread.

Everybody sent him some but he never responded, and he hasn't been on.

Due to delays and no answer from the OP I sent a trust feedback to coiner8.

I will delete that feedback if he will pay for the job.

Kind regards.

He was last active on November 8th; it's possible he really just hasn't been online recently.

Yes it is possible, that's why I will remove my feedback after he will shows up.

His last post was:

His quote: Once I get the questions answered I'll divide up the 1.5 BTC proportionally and send payments.  Hopefully today if everyone answers my PMs.

He never sent me any PM. I sent him 3-4 PMs.

That's why this is more likely that he is gone with our work :) (hope not).

So the final lists I got were:

roslinpl - 100
conteaza - 1100 - list was 1200 but had some dupes
Candystripes - 842
TRICHED - 2965

sinecoin - said only half his list had domain names.  looks like a quick copy and paste from a wiki.  I don't trust the quality and therefore didn't request the actual list.

All of the other lists were good quality.  TRICHED's list was huge but most of the sites were still relevant.

Paid 1.5 BTC total.  5007 URLs = 0.000299581 BTC each.  Proportional payments:

roslinpl - 0.03 BTC to 19tBQCj71a2MCem23xjFgzNvKhcxjgCHwa - https://blockchain.info/tx/463afeedf6c46b25f46b0cbae1bbbae03268812a1ae155236ad9f251e77b3807 (https://blockchain.info/tx/463afeedf6c46b25f46b0cbae1bbbae03268812a1ae155236ad9f251e77b3807)
conteaza - 0.33 BTC to 15xcKtBDjVU67FkAzfXYzZfPHQ18Mbdy7T - https://blockchain.info/tx/4078b1845ad3fbd8385343860be0312f9f1074510f67fc2a0a2cc9af874edf06 (https://blockchain.info/tx/4078b1845ad3fbd8385343860be0312f9f1074510f67fc2a0a2cc9af874edf06)
Candystripes - 0.25 BTC to 1CandyPE2zp8TQ55BA9gUP4qgVHzzPdDQ7 - https://blockchain.info/tx/2e3160784c090a2f6b175b2a18597b9433d317d7c1cfc8516a0943d0562f626d (https://blockchain.info/tx/2e3160784c090a2f6b175b2a18597b9433d317d7c1cfc8516a0943d0562f626d)
TRICHED - 0.89 BTC to 16kXabXYDdNK6VhV8wKnh6fWYmLEazpJRE - https://blockchain.info/tx/da49eee85386263cf0287b6ae2e26294f00937faca185d5f628e271bc9c1f621 (https://blockchain.info/tx/da49eee85386263cf0287b6ae2e26294f00937faca185d5f628e271bc9c1f621)

And if anyone is going to complain about the payments not matching the OP (even though I added 0.5 BTC and divided up the payments as fairly as possible), realize that if I'd stuck to the OP the only person eligible would be Gianluca95 since he was the first to claim the job, and no one else would have gotten anything.  Adjusting the payments to match the situation was the best option.

Proportional payments:

roslinpl - 0.03 BTC
conteaza - 0.33 BTC
Candystripes - 0.25 BTC
TRICHED - 0.89

And if anyone is going to complain about the payments not matching the OP (even though I added 0.5 BTC and divided up the payments as fairly as possible), realize that if I'd stuck to the OP the only person eligible would be Gianluca95 since he was the first to claim the job, and no one else would have gotten anything.  Adjusting the payments to match the situation was the best option.

You're a terrible liar, you could edit your own post, but the post that quoted you is at the bottom of my post. You specifically said TRICHED's wouldn't affect the proportions, and now you edited it out and let it affect the proportions.

I am so glad you skipped me, because I didn't have to sweat it out, knowing full well you'd skimp on the payout if you ever paid out at all, but I wanted to point out for fellow forumers that you are a liar, in pretty much every single post you've posted on this particular thread.

I can't help but think, TRICHED is just your alt account, and you got away with 4 times the work for a fraction of the pay listed in the OP.

And I'll be contacting TRICHED separately, the bounty for this job won't be affected by anything I pay him.

For those four, whenever you have a completed list, please send a decent-sized sample by PM and the total number of sites, and we can agree on an amount for the full list.  The bounty isn't large enough to justify the effort to escrow.  Please review my posting history to see that I've paid for work here in the past without escrow.

Thanks for response.

I will send you PM later with some example list, detail with how it was made and some more infos.

Glad to be able to help.

Kind regards.

If you weren't trying to be sneaky, why go back and edit the line out of your post? If that's true, you could have just posted you decided to include him now, but you deliberately went back and edited that one line out of your post and posted today as if you'd never said that.

You've already lied enough in this thread, I can't believe you in anything you say. You also have more negative trust than just the people in this thread, and honestly I believe you deserved the negative trust from the people in this thread, even if you did pay, just based on the fact that you said you'd send out the payment one day and then don't log in for another few days later, not to mention all the lying.

I am really pissed, you said that Triched would get a separate payment. Are you still accepting more sites? I am a bit mad to be honest :(

He's a liar. It's all over this thread. I'm a bit curious why'd you'd even offer to do more sites for him...  :-\

Just because he paid something, doesn't mean he he did so in a fair manner. But by all means, feel free to. I'm just happy to have been skipped over, just so I could avoid doing any extra work I wasn't going to be paid fairly for.

Coiner8 thanks for 0.03 but in my opinion you should pay me 0.1 as it was told in the OP.

I understand that members sent huge lists to you and you are not able to pay as much for URLs but ...

When I was PMing with you before I sent you the list you told me that you are interested in my list and that you are waiting for small list to see the quality etc.

Price in that moment for the list of 100 was 0.1 BTC.
I sent you this list because price was 0.1
If I will knew that you will pay 0.03 instead of 0.1 I would think twice about doing this list for you.

That's why I feel ripped.

Changing rules in the middle of the game is not nice.
I was playing due to your rules and I was contacting with you before I sent anything.

And after a week instead of 0.1 BTC you are sending me 0.03 BTC.

Erhm.

Regards.

Instead of .85, I got .25. That is almost 2 sevenths of what I should be paid. You then said 1.5 will be split between the four of us, excluding TRICHED. Then you added him in and paid him most of the 1.5 BTC. How unfair and deceitful. You will be named a scammer until you pay-up fairly.

At least you got something. I was only asking about proof of funds so I could do the bounty me being the second in Line. I think its rather unfair that I got excluded just for asking a simple question.

You got paid and you're still dissatisfied? You could get nothing instead of .25

im assuming based on everyones replies, the workload is already done.

It's over; don't think the OP is looking for any more, since he paid out what he said he would pay out. It's a justified dissatisfaction, since he didn't get paid what he was told he would get paid.
