Title: The Most Competitive Mining Bond - Synergy @ 25Gh/s [GLBSE]
Post by: Garr255 on June 03, 2012, 06:53:57 AM

Hi all,

Because of the nature of the original contract between myself and Synergy's underwriter, it was no longer in my best interest to continue operating Synergy. Because of this, we have performed a buyback of all bonds as per the contract, at 105% the 30d average price.

I'm going to keep the ticker alive but inactive on BTC-TC, in case I want to issue mining bonds under a new contract in the future.

Best,
Garrett

Code:
Public Contract:

The holder of this bond will receive as coupons a number of Bitcoins equivalent
to 100% PPS output of one million hashes per second for the duration of time the
bond is held. All coupons will be paid on the Saturday of each week for the
previous seven days of mining. This bond is 100% underwritten by a private
investor. If operation is ceased at any time, during the same week the Investor,
not the Manager, will repurchase all bonds at 105% the 744 hour average price.

Important Update!
Great news, everyone!

Synergy is live on BTC-TC! Check it out at https://btct.co/security/SYNERGY

Bondholder info has been processed by BTC-TC this morning and everyone on the lists supplied by GLBSE will be recieving an email shortly. Be sure to check your spam folder! If you didn't receive an email and you are a bondholder, please contact me at synergy@cognitivemining.com and include your email and bitcoin address you gave to the GLBSE claims form, and the number of shares you own.

After you receive your email containing the account login information, I recommend that you make a new account which you will more easily be able to remember and transfer the shares accordingly. BTC-TC has no internal transfer fees :)

Additionally, I am automatically emailed a bondholder list every 12 hours, so we won't have this problem if the new exchange ever shuts down!

Cheers,
Garrett

Synergy (https://btct.co/security/SYNERGY) will be the most competitive mining bond on the market.

I have been fully underwritten for the bond (by a private investor who wishes to remain anonymous), so there will be no IPO askwall to deal with.

Initially we will release 23237 1mh/s bonds, a which will be sold at the respective owner's choosing. The first coupon payment will take place Saturday, June 9, 2012, and will be a full coupon, calculated including all seven days before the payment.

I am already verified with the GLBSE and have an outstanding reputation managing Cognitive.

Well, the first and most obvious question is why you are releasing another mining bond when you already run COGNITIVE.

Secondly, what's the hardware ^^

Thirdly, if it's deterministic (1mHash/sec) it's already not as competitive as COGNITIVE. What is the investment hypothesis here? Will the shares be cheaper than 0.3 mHash/share to start? Are there bulk purchase options? Thanks.

Cognitive is not a bond, it is a company whose shares represent ownership of it. Keep in mind these are two completely different types of investments.

This will be Mini-Rig powered.

I cannot give information regarding bond prices, because I am not selling them. However, I believe they will be sold below 0.3.

I wouldn't take "This bond is 100% underwritten by a private investor who wishes to remain undisclosed." into the contract itself.

That is there for my own protection. I did clean it up a bit though.

We will finalize the contract very soon!

Synergy will be one of the most competitively priced mining bonds on the market.
I cannot give information regarding bond prices, because I am not selling them.
How can you claim to be the most competitively priced mining bond on the market when you are not setting the price?

IANAL, but I think "one of the" and "competitively priced" make the statement meaningless in the concrete sense. Just a wee bit of advertising.

For some reason the two most recent assets did not IPO as they were supposed to.

I'm investigating the possible reasons for this.

I've manually launched both and will be watching the next IPO when it happens to ensure all goes well.

The bonds have been issued and given to their respective owners.

Its 0200 where the underwriter is, so it might be a few hours before we're trading significantly.

BFL hasn't gotten back to me regarding the Mini-Rig delivery time, but coupons are still paid in full regardless of its delivery status, so in that respect there is no advantage in waiting to invest.

I will be posting more pictures of the finalized setup, and definitely video when the Mini-Rig gets here!

you better put those mini rigs online as soon as possible before the next difficulty change. Looking at the yesterday's huge network hashrate increase I shorted all of my mining bonds (or better what I have left from last time shorting :D).

Looks like a lot of hashing power coming online these days partly due to the BTC price increase and partly to all those ordered mini rigs and singles coming online finally.

GeoRW, this is really nice of you to inform us all about you shorting the mining bonds. I guess it's your desperate attempt to manipulate the market and cause a panic, so you can recover your short sells. I hope you used margin for this and end up with a massive margin call on top of it.   :-*

BTW, I can explain the sudden spike. I started up my Icicle Cluster and got it running @ 0.69 petafldrops. That was fun but I have to add some serious water piping to this monstrosity. I am going to take it down so you better start buying back your bonds.

PS! "Trust No One" as it's written under your icon ;)

Whether we will make an upgrade is entirely decided by the underwriter. I believe he wants to see some BFL ASICs out in the wild before laying down tens of thousands more dollars. When we do offer and upgrade, it will likely be similar to GigaMining's.

" it will likely be similar to GigaMining's."  - which is ? Give me a link or the gist of it.

Here is the quote from the Giga thread:

Quote
To all interested parties:

I would like to request gigaminers and other interested parties feedback on the upgrade paths from Gigamining to Teramining. I have outlined my initial thoughts below but this is not final and could be changed based on community feedback.

I will offer a trade-up program from Gigamining to Teramining. Below is what each bond looks like from a numbers perspective:

Code:
                 GIGAMINING   TERAMINING
Total Gh/s      200Gh        4,000Gh
Mh/s per bond   5Mh/s        25Mh/s
Total bonds     40,000       160,000

You will notice that Teramining has 4 times the number of shares as Gigamining. This is to allow for both a free and paid upgrade path.

Free Upgrade Path
I will offer a 1:1 exchange of Gigamining bonds for Teramining bonds that costs nothing to upgrade. An example would be if you have 400 Gigamining bonds and don’t want to pay to upgrade, you can swap them 1:1 for Teramining bonds. This would represent a 5x increase in the bonds hashing power at no additional cost. So in this case, the 400 Gigamining bonds (2Gh) would be upgraded to 400 Teramining bonds (10Gh).

Paid Upgrade Path
I will also offer a 1:4 exchange of Gigamining bonds for Teramining bonds. So, if you have 400 Gigamining bonds (2Gh) and pay the upgrade fee, you will receive 1,600 Teramining bonds (40Gh) in return. The fee to upgrade will be .25 BTC per Gigamining bond. So, the upgrade fee on 400 Gigamining bonds would be 100 BTC.

Initial Sales of Teramining
There will be no public or private offering of Teramining to the larger community. The only way to receive Teramining bonds will be to trade-in your Gigamining bonds either through the free or paid upgrade paths. Any bonds not sold will remain in the gigamining sub-account and will not have coupon payments paid out on them.

Contract Changes
The only contract change between Gigamining and Teramining is the amount of Mh/s per bond.

Please leave your comments and questions below and I will answer them to the best of my ability. My hope is to solidify this in a timely manner so there is less uncertainty around the future of Gigamining.

Best regards,
gigavps

And the upgrade will be free by default with an option to pay more and get even more.

Right ?

The upgrade plan is not official yet. What I am say is that if we do upgrade (which is likely) we will use a plan such as above.

the tools I use use the clipboard and parse it to generate a report. This helps me measure and compare dividends / prices...

I am preparing a software package launch where I sell the software tools.

Should anyone want to buy these tools at a per-launch prices - PM me.

Hope my stats helped to inform you better .

GLBSE (https://glbse.com) Has now opened a form to get your assets back, and without any personal information aside from an email address!

Head over there and fill out the form!

I've been talking with the founder of GLBSE and it looks like he is on track to get everything resolved within a week.

I see that you have put Cognitive up on Btct.co.

Will you be doing the same with Synergy?

If not, what is the situation for shareholders as you now have, according to Nefario, the shareholders list?

Synergy is up for vote by the site mods in the "Awaiting Approval" tab.

Pending approval, it will likely be imported similarly to Cognitive.

Cheers.

That's great to hear, burnside, thank you.

By the way, I think you're doing a fine job with Btct.co.

It probably wont be as well received as cognitive. A few moderators dont like perpetual mining bonds.  :)

It's good to have some pushback.  It improves the quality of the assets overall I think.

Cheers,
Garrett

I hope that btct.co works well for us all. It's looking very promising so far.

I would personally like to, but this is the underwriter's decision, not mine. I will keep you updated as things progress!

Is the 0.00057142 BTC/share weekly dividend expected to continue for awhile?

As long as the difficulty stays about the same, we should have close to the same output, yes. It's pretty atypical for us to mine just under 14 coins for three weeks in a row though.

It's been very quiet here for quite some time now.

I was wondering what is the explanation for the recent dividend dropping from 9BTC to 4?

Have you decided to do the same as with Cognitive and keep half of the dividends for purchasing equipment?

Any general updates on the BFL upgrade situation?

Thanks.

Hi Garrett,

I'm holding some of the synergy bonds at the moment and I'm confused about the dividends.

You are saying, the dividends should equal the output of 1MHash hashing power.

Even at the current difficulty, according to my calculations, this should equal 0.00053 BTC per week. However, your dividends are always far lower than this value. Even in february, when the difficulty was still a lot lower, the dividends never reached 0.00053 BTC per week.

So what's wrong? If it's my calculation, then please explain how you are determining the dividends. If you did not pay enough dividends according to the bond contract, then please tell us when you will pay the overdue dividends.

Title: Synergy Buyback
Post by: Garr255 on May 03, 2013, 10:47:35 PM
